00:00July 5th. The Precious Blood That Flows in Confession
00:04There is no more powerful healing on earth than the grace poured out in the sacrament of confession.
00:12Behind the words of absolution is the thunder of the cross.
00:16Each time we kneel in humility and say,
00:19Bless me, Father, the blood of Jesus is applied anew to our soul, real, present, and saving.
00:27It doesn't merely cover sin, it annihilates it.
00:31The same blood that ran down the cross now runs over the wounds of our hearts, and we rise clean.
00:38Yet how often do we treat this great gift lightly, or worse, avoid it out of fear or pride?
00:46We forget that Christ waits for us, not with wrath, but with open arms, eager to wash us in His blood.
00:54He does not grow weary of forgiving.
00:58The fountain is inexhaustible.
01:00If only souls knew how quickly heaven rejoices over one act of true contrition,
01:05they would run to the confessional, not crawl.
01:09St. John Vianney understood the mystery and the mercy of the confessional more than most.
01:14For over 40 years, he spent up to 16 hours a day hearing confessions.
01:19His small parish became a floodgate of grace as thousands flocked to Ars,
01:26seeking what only the precious blood could offer, a fresh beginning.
01:30He once said,
01:32It is not the sinner who returns to God to ask for forgiveness,
01:36but God Himself who runs after the sinner.
01:39When we make a good confession,
01:41it is as if we are bathed once again beneath the cross.
01:44The blood falls gently upon the soul and restores it to grace.
01:49It softens what was hardened.
01:51It revives what was dead.
01:54There is no sin too black,
01:56no habit too ingrained,
01:58that the blood cannot destroy and make new.
02:01Today, hear Christ's voice.
02:04Come to me,
02:06you who are weary,
02:07and I will give you rest.
02:09He does not ask you to clean yourself up first,
02:13only to come and let Him do the cleansing.
02:16His blood is not only forgiveness,
02:18but restoration.
02:20Run to Him.
02:21The confessional is not the courtroom of wrath,
02:24but the chamber of divine mercy.
02:26Let us pray.
02:28Lord Jesus,
02:30I thank you for the gift of confession,
02:32where your precious blood is poured over my soul.
02:35Give me the courage to face my sins with honesty,
02:38the humility to admit my need,
02:41and the trust to believe in your infinite mercy.
02:44Through the intercession of St. John Vianney,
02:47awaken in the hearts of priests and penitents
02:49a renewed reverence for this sacrament.
02:52Let your blood flow freely again in your church,
02:55cleansing, restoring, and renewing souls in your love.
