00:00perspective of of that place that it holds in your heart uh which i think a lot of others

00:06out there may be able to relate absolutely so my family my wife's family both hail from central

00:13texas we were both born and raised here in austin uh grew up in the region uh my my wife many of her

00:21cousins attended summer camp out in that hunt community so much of it really hinges on us

00:26centered around those camps a number of them served as counselors there uh later on in their

00:31teen years uh but this has been a tradition in my wife's family for you know almost uh three and a

00:37half four decades now it's one that we've continued with our children in terms of them going out to

00:42summer camps now so again those you know ties do uh run deep there but this is an annual getaway that

00:50we look forward to every single year you know we have family members that come in from across the

00:56the nation uh in certain years we're really fortunate we have uh family coming in from

01:00the uk to join us as well um so like i said it is a pretty uh central part of our family life

01:07so as you look ahead as you mentioned there is a lot of processing that still needs to be done but

01:13do you think you and your family will be able to i don't want to uh the the enjoy is the wrong verb

01:21but to be able to go back to that spot and i appreciate that yeah first of all um you know

01:30again what we have gone through uh is unfortunate uh there you know uh certainly some feel good

01:36aspects to it we're all very very thankful to be okay um but we're also uh very mindful of the fact

01:41that we're very fortunate right we we did get out okay we are safe um whether or not we're able to go

01:48back there uh obviously we would love to we'd be able to uh relive some of those old good times uh

01:54quite frankly to reclaim some of what made that place so special um but but again you know our focus

02:00is really more so on how can we help that community to rebuild um and and them to move forward um we've

02:07got about 30 seconds left um is any last words that you want to tell our viewers i know that right now

02:13you say the priority is is to help help rebuild absolutely uh so to the viewers uh if you can give

02:21volunteer uh if you can't do anything beyond give a word of encouragement of somebody who's struggling

02:26in this time or they've been impacted directly where they're just feeling the uh emotional effects

02:30of it please do uh please also uh you know petition your uh state representatives your local representatives

02:38um to to make the changes to push forward the uh policy changes and the infrastructure improvements

02:45that texas so desperately needs david uh thank you again for taking the time to speak with us i know

02:50you must be very very busy dealing with a lot of moving parts and your family and yourself

02:54um so we appreciate you being with us and and we're glad that that you are safe along with your

07:26letters here coming in that he again just posted here on truth social and this one obviously very

07:31tiny type but it is the letter that he sent over to ursula von der leyen the president of the

07:38european commission now european union commission president von der leyen responded by noting the

07:44bloc's quote commitment to dialogue stability and a constructive transatlantic partnership

07:50at the same time we will take all necessary steps to safeguard eu interests including the adoption

07:57of proportionate countermeasures if required she wrote that in her statement president trump as he

08:03has in previous letters warned that his administration would further raise tariffs

08:08if the eu attempts to hike its own tariffs on the u.s which sounds like what von der leyen is saying

08:14they will do with the reciprocal tariffs president trump is effectively blowing up the rules

08:20governing world trade for decades the u.s and most other countries abided by tariff rates set through

08:26a series of complex negotiations known as the uruguay round countries could set their own

08:33tariffs but under the quote most favored nation approach they could not charge one country more

08:39than they charged another the italian government said today that it continues to quote closely

08:44monitor the ongoing trade negotiations between the eu and the u.s fully supporting the eu commission's

08:51efforts they did say in a statement quote we trust in the goodwill of all stakeholders to reach a fair

08:58agreement that can strengthen the west as a whole given that particularly in the current scenario

09:04it would make no sense to trigger a trade war between the two sides of the atlantic the mexico tariff if it

09:10does go into effect could replace the 25 percent tariffs on mexican goods that do not comply with

09:17the existing u.s mexico canada free trade agreement trump's letter did not address if u.s mca compliant

09:25goods would still be exempt from the mexico tariffs after august 1st as the white house said would be the

09:32case with canada trump did send a letter to canada earlier this week threatening a 35 percent tariff hike edward
