00:00hours of Todd Blanche's meeting with her. So the limited immunity question, that's just for her,
00:07right? That's not for anyone she may have brought up or implicated in some of these
00:12conversations. Remember, it was reported that, what, almost 100 individual figures were brought
00:17up over the course of those nine hours of interviews. Are we ever going to hear about
00:22them? Maybe if Dick Durbin and Sheldon Whitehouse are successful in compelling the release of some
00:29of those transcripts, but if not, then what? Right. Very good question. What is the status of
00:35those, the names, the people whose names were given during the nine hours of questioning, of
00:40discussions, and what becomes that? And again, this is all in the context of this
00:44public clamor for transparency on the Epstein case, clamor for transparency on what information is
00:52being handed out. So at the end of the day, it may be that Maxwell's lawyer playing these cards
00:59like this has been a very, very smart move. If you can get some kind of advantage for her
01:03and some of that information is given to Congress and then released publicly. I mean, you know,
01:10this is Maxwell's one chance, one last chance, unless her appeal is successful with the Supreme Court,
01:16but this is her chance to try to get her sentence reduced or even eliminated through clemency or a
01:21pardon. All right, John Day, thanks so much for kind of breaking down some of those legal questions.
01:26This story is on two tracks, the legal and the political. We won't get into the political with
01:30you, but the president was asked on Air Force One on his way back to Washington today, numerous
01:35questions about, you know, his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, you know, how well he knew him
01:41way back when. And he was also, you know, quite forthcoming about that. And we were playing some
01:46of that audio here. So he also keeps bringing it up. Well, he keeps getting asked about it,
01:51essentially moving this story further, further along. And so it is not redounding to his benefit
01:59in that respect. Would you make that argument? Yeah, I mean, you know, it's, these are the
02:04questions that are the forefront of people's minds right now. And, and he, it's actually, he's right,
02:09he does have the ability to issue pardons. But again, the context of this, I mean, any information
02:14that comes out, if there is a pardon issued, if there's some type of clemency granted to Maxwell,
02:19you know, the question's always going to be, what was the deal? Was there a deal? What was
02:24the information that was supposed to either be withheld or released? So the questions that would
02:30swirl around a pardon or a clemency grant are, are ones that would really never die. But the
02:35president's right when he says, I have the right to do it. He certainly does have the right to do it.
02:39The question of, is always going to be, you know, is he going to do it? And was there any kind of a
02:44deal made prior to that? All right, John Day, as always, thanks so much for your time. We'll talk soon.
02:49Okay, in the meantime here, let's take a quick commercial break. Now that we are 10 minutes
02:55past this new hour, when we come back, we'll be diving into some of these key international
03:00headlines there in the war in Ukraine, also in the Middle East. We'll have that for you after the break.
03:23Bye.
06:35There is one big obstacle, and everyone knows it.
06:39That is Hamas.
06:40With peace talks stalled amid reports that Hamas is adding demands to the mediation, Gaza's
06:45civilian population continues to pay the highest price.
06:49Overnight, dozens of people were killed in Israeli airstrikes, according to local reports.
06:54The IDF confirmed these strikes to Fox News, but claims that steps were taken to mitigate
06:58risk to civilians.
07:00There is no safe space.
07:01There is no safe space.
07:02We don't have any safe space.
07:04That's it.
07:05We're dying.
07:06Let us die before our children.
07:08Today, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the UK will recognize a Palestinian state
07:13if Israel doesn't reach a ceasefire by the UN General Assembly in September.
07:18France already says it will recognize Palestine.
07:20The U.S. does not recognize a Palestinian state.
07:24In Tel Aviv, Treyengst, Fox News.
07:30And back out live there to southern Israel, looking into the Gaza Strip.
07:34Also, this post here from Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel saying this,
07:40I have just finished an additional consultation on the issue of the release of our hostages.
07:44There was a meeting yesterday and the day before and the day before that as well
07:48since the return of the delegation from Qatar, we have not stopped trying.
07:54So, leaving the Middle East briefly out to London there in the UK, we learned today
07:59the United Kingdom will recognize a Palestinian state in September
08:02unless Israel agrees to a ceasefire in Gaza.
08:07UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer made the announcement today.
08:09Let's listen.
08:10On the 7th of October, 2023, Hamas perpetrated the worst massacre in Israel's history.
08:19Every day since then, the horror has continued.
08:24The hostages are still being held today.
08:27The Palestinian people have endured terrible suffering.
08:30Now, in Gaza, because of a catastrophic failure of aid, we see starving babies, children too weak to stand,
08:42images that will stay with us for a lifetime.
08:46The suffering must end.
08:48Yesterday, I discussed this with President Trump, and we're mounting a major effort to get humanitarian supplies back in by air.
08:59And UK aid has been airdropped into Gaza today, and crucially, by land.
09:06We need to see at least 500 trucks entering Gaza every day.
09:11But ultimately, the only way to bring this humanitarian crisis to an end is through a long-term settlement.
09:22So we are supporting the US, Egyptian, and Qatari efforts to secure a vital ceasefire.
09:29That ceasefire must be sustainable, and it must lead to a wider peace plan,
09:36which we're developing with our international partners.
09:39This plan will deliver security and proper governance in Gaza,
09:45and pave the way for negotiations on a two-state solution.
09:51Our goal remains a safe and secure Israel, alongside a viable and sovereign Palestinian state.
10:01But right now, that goal is under pressure like never before.
10:07I've always said that we will recognise a Palestinian state as a contribution to a proper peace process at the moment of maximum impact for the two-state solution.
10:21With that solution now under threat, this is the moment to act.
10:26So today, as part of this process towards peace, I can confirm the UK will recognise the state of Palestine by the United Nations General Assembly in September,
10:40unless the Israeli government takes substantive steps to end the appalling situation in Gaza,
10:47agree to a ceasefire, and commit to a long-term sustainable peace, reviving the prospect of a two-state solution.
10:56And this includes allowing the UN to restart the supply of aid, and making clear that there will be no annexations in the West Bank.
11:06Meanwhile, our message to the terrorists of Hamas is unchanged and unequivocal.
11:13They must immediately release all of the hostages, sign up to a ceasefire, disarm, and accept that they will play no part in the government of Gaza.
11:26And we'll make an assessment in September on how far the parties have met these steps.
11:32But no one should have a veto over our decision.
11:36So this is the way forward.
11:39We will keep working with all our international partners to end the suffering, get aid flooding into Gaza,
11:46and deliver a more stable future for the Middle East.
11:50Because I know that is what the British people desperately want to see.
11:57Back out live there to London there as the sun comes up on an early Wednesday morning,
12:03and bringing you into the conversation right now to talk about the humanitarian situation in Gaza
12:09is none other than national security expert and analyst and retired marine intelligence officer Al Kemper.
12:15He joins me.
12:16Hal, thanks for being with us here.
12:18So I've got to just straight up and ask this.
12:21What is the situation like?
12:22Is aid getting into the Gaza Strip?
12:24And if not, why?
12:26Well, Andrew, there is some aid getting in.
12:28These are the air drops taking place.
12:30The problem with airdrop is you have a limited amount that you can get in.
12:33Of course, it's always very dangerous because there's a chance of people actually rushing
12:38and trying to get under those pallets that are being parachuted in.
12:41And those pallets are coming down at a pretty good clip.
12:43So you can have injuries and even death if they get in the way.
12:46So that's a concern.
12:47But there's only a limited amount that you can airdrop.
12:49The big thing is trucks.
12:50Now, it looks like some more trucks are coming in.
12:53But you heard that number.
12:54We've heard that number for, well, since shortly after October 7th, about 500 trucks a day.
13:01That's what they need.
13:02That's the number of trucks with aid coming in.
13:04Still have some of the same issues, though.
13:07Can they get it from the border, if you will, of Gaza to the distribution site?
13:14Once the distribution site, can they evenly and fairly distribute that aid throughout the population there?
13:20These are all problems.
13:22Despite all the rhetoric, these are substantial mechanics, if you will, on the ground that get in the way of some of the aspirational goals that we hear on the political level.
13:35Okay, this may be a difficult question to answer.
13:38I'm going to ask it anyway.
13:39Is the tide turning or has the dam broke, whatever metaphor you want to use, against Israel in the West specifically?
13:47Are you seeing Israel being roundly blamed for the plight and the condition of the Palestinians right now?
13:53And if so, if that is true, if that contention is accurate, will it revert back?
13:58Will it boomerang back or no?
14:00Has Israel lost the moral high ground here, if they ever had it?
14:04You know, there's a lot of stuff out right now that indicates that the moral high ground has kind of been lost in a lot of ways.
14:10The problem is you can't – the pictures of starving children, you know, emaciated children, emaciated adults for that matter too, those speak for themselves.
14:21You can say that there's not, you know, a famine going on.
14:24But when you see, you know, babies that are emaciated and starving and small children that are emaciated and starving, that's –
14:30you know, we've seen – that's an archetypal image that goes back decades, and we've seen that before.
14:35So that is standing out, and I think the other thing is when President Trump – and, of course, you know, the United States is Israel's most staunch ally –
14:44when he turned around and basically says, hey, look, there's starvation in Gaza, period.
14:49I'm not going with what Netanyahu said.
14:51I think that's when you really start to see, if you will, that the dam broke in terms of international will of various leaders saying, look, it's time to do something.
15:02Now, some of the language coming out of Macron and others, you know, it's like we want to release the hostages, we want a two-state solution, you know, we want all the aid to come in.
15:13A lot of it's very aspirational.
15:15Mechanics are very different, and that's where Israel's having a tough time, which is how do you – how would you physically impose what they're talking about?
15:25How would this happen?
15:26So something that's somewhat ironic in the history of warfare that I've been reading, and this is a conservative line.
15:34I'm going to echo it now.
15:35I'm going to echo it now.
15:35I'm going to echo it now.
