00:00Things really heat up in episodes 7 and 8 of The First Night with the Duke.

00:03The marriage selection takes a sharp turn when Hua Xion,

00:06desperate to kick Sun Chaik out of the running, tries to publicly shame her.

00:09During a Kwanda session meant to test the candidate's virtue,

00:12Hua Xion accuses Sun Chaik of having an inappropriate relationship with Mark.

00:16It's a move clearly meant to ruin her reputation and increase Hua Xion's own chances.

00:20But what Hua Xion doesn't know is that Yibion is already a few steps ahead.

00:24He's been quietly looking into her family's shady connections,

00:27especially their link to Mark.

00:28The same man who once poisoned Sun Chaik, Yibion plays along,

00:32pretending to be interested in Hua Xion just long enough to get access to her family's goods.

00:36In doing so, he collects proof that ties them directly to the foreign poisoner.

01:13Yibion dives in to save her, giving her mouth to mouth and holding her in the water in a moment that's both tender and intense.

01:19Later, Sun Chaik starts to piece things together and suspects Hua Xion is behind the attack.

01:25When she notices a scratch on Hua Xion's hand where she clawed her attacker, it confirms everything.

01:30After everything they've been through, Yibion opens up.

01:32He brings Sun Chaik flowers and tells her how he really feels.

01:40Unfortunately, Sun Chaik's father walks in on them the next morning, and he is not happy.

01:52When he sees Sun Chaik, he brings up a childhood promise to marry her, something she doesn't remember at all.
