00:49light of my life 20 years ago we met at high school I was the naughty one sitting at the
00:54back of the class he walks in with these knee-high socks looking absolutely dapper and I picked on
01:01him don't worry nowadays Lomu gives as good as he gets this dog's so spoiled it's unbelievable
01:08just like someone I know oh funny right funny despite the banter they're crazy for each other
01:20which is good because they spend a lot of time together let's go we've got a boxing gym it's our
01:30first business hey Adam some days start at 4 30 in the morning finish at about 8 p.m off the jab off
01:38the jab it's a non-stop run it can be very taxing hard hard work hard work hard work after a long
01:46day working together they head home to relax but that's where the real sparring starts so currently
01:54we're living in a one-bedroom apartment my little fur babies it's nice but you're crammed in each
02:00other's space all the time when we do come home sometimes I might have to tell her you know can
02:06you read the room right now because I've talked all day so I need to recharge batteries I absolutely
02:10love him to death but let's be real he's my husband and I see him 24 7 yeah baby so in the
02:18interest of sanity they're calling time out and want to buy a retreat out west in country New South
02:25Wales we're looking for a weekender where we can have family and friends but be completely shut off
02:30from everything else I'm looking for a place where I can get away from AFA I'd love to have some like
02:37water gotta be a dam or river or something a nice panoramic view I love a bit of mountain not too much
02:45maintenance wanted to be somewhere I could just relax I would love a romantic fireplace I definitely
02:52want some fruit trees and a large kitchen he loves to eat and so do I can't see I'm talking man so our
03:02budget 1.2 to 1.5 would be the sweet spot if it was up to me you know I would spend as much as we
03:09need to just to get away from each other and get some get some peace and quiet you can't put a price
03:17on sanity but in this case one and a half million will have to do we're heading west to the Canimbla
03:25Valley one hour from the historic city of Bathurst and swapping city hipsters for country hoppers oh my
03:34god there's a kegger on the road all right let's go let's get it oh my gosh how cute is it
03:42Lomu and AFA have very different wish lists but their agent Christy has found a gem that could suit
03:48them both today I'll be showing AFA and Lamu a property in the Canimbla Valley has river frontage
03:54and it's on 20 acres we've established orchard okay so I think this is the entrance yeah oh this is
04:05massive house number one the riverside escape on the market at the top of their budget for 1.495
04:16million oh my gosh that just means a lot of work gee well yeah but it's got like vineyards oh look
04:30there's fruit trees okay I'm like overwhelmed right now and she hasn't even gone out of the car yet
04:38oh wow hi guys how are you today welcome to this property it is on 21 acres four bedrooms two bathrooms
04:51and it has river frontage oh wow it's even better for me
04:55oh wow wow this is a massive space
05:04oh look there's like a massive fireplace I love this
05:10but look at its view y'all I know
05:13with this much space they could go days without having to talk to each other
05:20this is the master bedroom oh wow I don't know about the colors but yeah yeah the colors are a bit
05:27and we started so well oh wow I like this I don't like it look at it it's like from 1990
05:44and the spa's like yuck I actually like this spa gives it that like country feel
05:51no no we need to do like a reno
05:55I'm not doing renos because I know I'm gonna have to do all the work
06:02judging by that face you do not have a choice
06:07and the kitchen's not much better wow definitely my spot hey
06:12I love that it's really spacious but a bit too much timber for me
06:18the kitchen's really dated it looks like something out of a 90s horror show
06:23I love it it gives it the country feel the wood is awesome
06:26it's too much too much for me
06:28now AFA does like wood just outside in the ground preferably with fruit attached
06:37so you can see the established fruit orchard oh this is beautiful
06:43peaches pears and there's something out here that should keep Lomu very happy
06:50yeah there's trout in the river oh yeah there's actually even better because I
06:56love fishing and this view is amazing yeah but it is still a lot of land I did
07:04want a weekend where I could just get away and just relax but the land's gonna
07:07be a lot of work it's 20 acres like if you think about it like I've got to go
07:11buy a tractor for the land I'm gonna have to work the whole time so I'm not
07:15really gonna have a break and I came in to have a weekend away I don't know if I
07:20want to die on the tractor yeah I get it like there's a lot of land here but
07:24you got a 200 meter water frontage at the river there's a lot of things to
07:29consider here because there's a lot of pros and cons but balancing both their
07:35dreams is going to be tricky I'm up for a project DIY yeah see me I don't want to
07:40do any work let's go gym owners Lomu and Aifa are on the hunt for a weekend
07:52retreat armed with one and a half million they're desperate to escape city chaos
07:58and each other the house we're seeing now is on six acres so I'm curious to know
08:07like whether or not it'll have fruit trees Aifa dreams of an orchard a farmhouse
08:14kitchen and an open fire but Lomu just wants to relax so what was this six
08:21acres yeah so I think it's gonna be a lot more manageable for us yeah because I
08:25really don't want to do any work his dream is to look at a view or chill by the
08:30water the land on the last place was too big for Lomu but this next property is
08:36much smaller so could it be the one oh it's one storey I love this house number
08:48two the hobby farm list price 1.35 million and look it's got like really
08:57nice established trees yeah it looks like apples cherries oh my gosh that's so
09:02cool haha look Lomu there's a pond where there oh mad this is really nice

09:14three-bedroom at one bathroom and it's on a little over six acres let's go check it

09:26oh wow this is so nice I love the color scheme like this nicely muted low ceilings
09:35but like cozy it's got a fireplace too I love that yeah I love it oh wow look at
09:45this this is a country this is like a proper gas cooker this is big I like it I love it
09:55looks like the kitchen's a winner but is there enough space for visiting family
10:01this is very cozy yeah it is oh nice it's a little bit small but it's cozy like it's tiny as
10:13it's good for a guest bedroom at least I like it shove the guests in a shoebox and they won't
10:21outstay they're welcome but Lomu and Afa need their creature comforts so this must be the master
10:31bedroom because it's got the double windows views great yeah but the space it is a bit tiny is going
10:39to be a bit of mission trying to get around in here and if they thought that was small
10:44okay so this is interesting it's very very retro there's a sink and there's a bathtub next door is
10:58shower shower so we're gonna have to like completely gut it out bathrooms are a bit of a pickle but I am
11:07not afraid of a DIY job yeah but is it gonna be worth our time at least the lands low maintenance for
11:15Lomu with space to kick back and take in the view yeah right look at this great outdoor area here for
11:24all my guests barbecue here good view nice and at 1.35 million it's under budget what's not to love
11:34it ticks so many things off my wish list like we've got the fireplace I've got established fruit trees and
11:41the kitchen is the best feature of the house yeah there's a dam which I'm happy with manageable land
11:47the only thing is with the bathrooms I'm I'm up for a project DIY yeah see me I don't want to do any
11:55work remember I came here for a weekend away not to do work it's something to consider but there's
12:00no I'm not considering it but will Lomu's high expectations mate that is steep yo finally be met

12:20definitely a long way from the city Lomu and Afa are back on the road to view their final country retreat
12:26mate these are some pretty steep hills eh they're climbing high above the valley into mountain goat country
12:34my that is steep y'all but this next house is worth it so this property is a very unique property it's on
12:45top of a hill it has the most incredible 360 degree views that's a big tick on Lomu's list I hope he's
12:54packed his lederhosen because this is straight out of the sound of music oh wow wow look at this

14:06never have thought that would have something this beautiful in our budget that's right it's definitely
14:10a hidden gem the views are a feast for Lomu's eyes but will Afa's kitchen serve up the goods look
14:19it's not as big as I thought yeah but I could see myself cooking here like mmm with these views these
14:24views are beautiful so it does have a really large walk-in pantry wow yeah it's good definitely see
14:35myself in there if I'm ever lost you know where I'm at if it's solitude you're after Lomu there's
14:43another hidey hole that's great after pantry snacking mmm what's in there it's a sauna on away oh my gosh
14:53get out that's like a proper Swiss chalet welcome to Europe mate the sauna is just a big plus I see
15:02myself here relaxing having the time of my life you'll be like naked in the corner where's Lomu in
15:07the sauna so what's that oh that would be the main bedroom then oh yeah this is the master bedroom
15:17wow what a view I can sit on that balcony let's take it in a moment there's a lot of timber happening
15:24that orange timber look I don't know man like that's you're colorblind we'd have to paint it
15:33brown no it's like orange we've got to paint something over at the top of it it's a bit it's
15:39a bit much but we'll all be forgiven when Afa steps outside because these hills are alive with
15:48potential anyone for a yodel oh my goodness this is amazing you could leave here just purely on the
15:58view is this all for the gardens though there's no fruit trees or no it's all very native and just
16:07it's natural it's low maintenance low maintenance music to Lomu's ears but it does come at a cost
16:16is there like a river any water around here on this particular property there is no river access but
16:22the river is only a short drive away there's a water tank for you yeah I'll just go attach myself to the
16:29water tank this place doesn't have everything they want but it's under budget at 1.35 million so
16:38there's still plenty of money to fix up the fault because views like this are worth making sacrifices
16:45for I really love it I honestly I love the view I don't think we could ever beat a view like this
16:53like we can establish some new trees or something and there is a sauna which I can substitute for my
16:58water but it will take a bit of getting used to this one's right out there yeah it's gonna be hard
17:04to top this but there's a few things that we need to take out of our wish lists to consider it
17:09it's gloves off honestly I could see myself living there as Lomu and Afa go toe-to-toe for their
17:19perfect country retreat who's gonna do the wet
17:28Lomu and Afa are about to pick a country escape Afa's dream is a big kitchen fruit trees and a
17:37fireplace but Lomu wants low maintenance a place to relax with water and views so far there's only one
17:47thing they can agree on you know who wears the pants I don't wear the pants but like I do make smart
17:58suggestions I really hope you've got your popcorn and this could get interesting so so a lot of things
18:10to consider riverside escape that was a dream come true when we walk through those fruit trees and the
18:17vineyards honestly I could see myself living there and had that gorgeous fireplace with that really nice
18:22character as well I actually like the bathroom I like the old cottage feel I'm not cleaning that spa
18:28mate there is no chance like we need to fix that bathroom fix that kitchen we're at the max budget though
18:36so we'd have to do that ourselves and I'm definitely not doing that see my concern is there's a lot of
18:42land and you know what that means who's gonna do the wet that I want to be cutting grass on the weekend
18:47the only saving grace which I'm gonna give a positive is the river the waterfront see if you
18:53get the water you're totally fine with mowing some lawns what about the hobby farm I really like all
19:02those different types of fruit trees that by place was gorgeous and it had the water feature for you
19:08so it's very manageable six acres I don't have to do much work the place is definitely the weekend
19:13vibes as a weekender it works perfectly for us but it's a little bit cozy if we have more than a few
19:21friends over where do we put them all yeah the bathroom is tight we're gonna have to do the works on
19:27that mate you're gonna make me do the work yeah and then you're gonna love it after what do you
19:34think about the Swiss chalet I liked it because it was on elevator land you have the whole view of the
19:39hills the rolling hills that view was gorgeous that fireplace was beautiful as well but those
19:44bedrooms timber everywhere we'd have to paint it all paint it all what do you mean yeah like there
19:49was timber everywhere you love that I love timber the other thing for me is that there was absolutely
19:54nothing on the land there were no trees absolutely nothing there and there's no water so no water
19:59features but you got a sauna though the sauna was a bonus so I could I could deal with that
20:04but for that view honestly could even out the playing field it really could
20:10choosing their Goldilocks house is going to be tough
20:15will it be the sprawling Riverside Escape with the enormous orchard for Aoife will it be the compact
20:23hobby farm with low maintenance land for Lomu or will the Swiss chalet with its knockout views be
20:30just right for both of them yeah baby we bought a house so we ended up buying the Riverside Escape two
20:42beautiful living spaces fireplace you can't say no to these fruit trees what more can you ask for me
20:49honestly I know I was the guy that was so negative about the land yeah I'm actually the first thing I've
20:55done is gone out and worked the land you'll never see me in the house so he loved it but I I wake up
21:03and I lose him because he's out in the grounds on a tractor who would have known it's the best place
21:10to come to it's absolutely gorgeous yeah and the river the river is a plus but for me I'm gonna admit
21:16I was wrong and I'm working the land and I'm you're right wife knows best
