Solana breaks down the only path to Inter Miami beating their round of 16 opponent PSG tomorrow. Hoch still wants to bet Inter Miami despite the seemingly insurmountable odds.
Transcript
00:00I'm thinking, no joke, for Sunday of one of the texters had suggested it,
00:07parlaying Inter-Miami with Leo Messi to score.
00:11Because if Inter-Miami does beat PSG somehow,
00:15you have to imagine there's a Messi goal in there somewhere.
00:19And so now you're talking, think like plus 1,100 on Inter-Miami,
00:24plus 300 on Messi.
00:26You're talking about a nice little parlay there, if that were to come in.
00:30Long shot, of course, but you never know.

01:04And Solana is at home in Kendall.
01:07You know more about soccer than we do.
01:09I know, obviously, long shot to think that Inter-Miami would beat PSG.
01:14Why is that?
01:15Is that just because, and I understand how good PSG is,
01:17but is it just because they are stacked from head to toe
01:20and Inter-Miami would just need a miracle from Messi and Suarez?
01:25It's not just a miracle.
01:27Like, when you're a team this outmatched, right?
01:30What you typically do, because Inter-Miami can't go toe-to-toe.
01:34They can't go out and try to attack against PSG.
01:37They don't have the players.
01:38And for anybody who doesn't know, PSG just won the Champions League
01:41for the first time in the history of their club.
01:45And they had Kylian Mbappe, who is, you know, right now,
01:49a lot of people consider him the greatest player in the world currently.
01:53And, you know, some people might say he's not.
01:54But he plays for the French national team.
01:57He's one of the highest paid players in the world.
01:58And he was playing in PSG.
02:00And it was a big deal, right?
02:01He's French.
02:02He's playing for the biggest club in France.
02:04And he couldn't get them over the mountaintop.
02:06They had Messi.
02:06He couldn't win a Champions League there.
02:08They've had great players come through Ronaldinho in the past.
02:12Neymar was playing there.
02:13One of the largest contracts ever.
02:15He couldn't win the Champions League there.
02:17And they finally got over the hump.
02:19They beat Inter Milan 5-0.
02:22It's the largest margin of victory in the history of a Champions League final.
02:27They dominated.
02:29And the teams they had to beat to get there, it was an impressive resume.
02:33This team is outstanding.
02:35They could be one of the greatest club teams as constructed right now in the last decade.
02:41So, it's not just beating a European powerhouse.
02:45It's probably beating the best team in the world in the past decade.
02:51Ender Prime in a knockout game.
02:54Even as great as Inter-Miami has looked at times.
02:57I mean, you're asking a lot from a team with four superstars at the end of their career.
03:04Inter-Miami really should have longer odds than plus 1,100.
03:07That's the Messi effect.
03:09The way you're laying it out.
03:10Like, if Leo Messi was not Inter-Miami, they wouldn't be in the tournament if he wasn't.
03:14But if Leo Messi was not Inter-Miami, this is plus 3,000 on an MLS side.
03:20Yeah.
03:20I just think because it's soccer, things happen.
03:23Right?
03:23Like, what I was going to say was, the path to victory here is defend.
03:28Defend your life away.
03:30And they call it parking the bus.
03:33And try to have Messi, Suarez, brilliance on counterattacks or on set pieces.
03:39Goal kicks.
03:40Excuse me.
03:41Corner kicks and free kicks.
03:43Inter-Miami can play that game.
03:44But defensively, they're not great.
03:47That's where they're most vulnerable, in the back.
03:50So, I mean, you are really, really asking for 90 minutes of perfect defense from a team who's vulnerable, who doesn't have great defense.
04:02Where is this game, by the way?
04:03Is it in Atlanta?
04:05Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
04:06Can they, like, you know, spice it up a little bit?
04:09Like, I watched the Little Giants beat the Cowboys with the Fumble Rooski, or maybe the Flying V off Mighty Ducks.
04:16Just something different.
04:16Razzle-dazzle.
04:17Razzle-dazzle.
04:17Yeah, a little razzle-dazzle.
04:18Yeah, yeah.
04:19They can try the hook and ladder play, of course.
04:21That is very, very popular in soccer.
04:23Absolutely.
04:25And, you know, I mean, they could do a host of things, Crowder.
04:28They can try the soccer Rooski, obviously.
04:32They can also just have their goalkeeper.
04:34They can have two goalkeepers.
04:35Why don't they try doing that?
04:37Two goalkeepers.
04:37The great Kabuki used to blow powder into his opponent's eyes.
04:44Could they do that, maybe?
04:46Messi's got the ball, and he blows powder, great Kabuki style, into PSG's faces, and they don't know what's happened until he's scored.
04:55I believe they'd have a better chance ingesting some sort of powder.
05:01Anybody can take a flyer on Inter-Miami with me?
05:03I feel like taking a flyer at plus 1100.
05:05I'll do it.
05:06I'll do it.
05:07Is that a noon match on Sunday?
05:10Noon or 2 p.m.?
05:12It says noon on the Hard Rock app, but I'm not certain it's correct.
05:14How does your mind work?
05:16Solana just said it's one of the best constructed teams in the history of soccer, and now we're taking a flyer.
05:20Not the history, but certainly in the past decade.
05:22I think it's worth taking a flyer because crazier things have happened.
05:26This is the team of destiny.
05:29Inter-Miami wasn't even supposed to get out of their group.
05:31This is a team of destiny, Crowder.
05:33The big Kabuki.
05:34I don't know if they're the team of destiny, but in soccer, weird things happen.
05:40You see this where a team will defend their life away, and they maybe get a penalty early in the game, right?
05:48Doesn't this mean a hell of a lot more to Inter-Miami than it does PSG?
05:53No, because PSG can't lose to Inter-Miami.
05:56It's Leo Messi going up against his former club in Paris Saint-Germain, where he did not have a ton of success, and now they're the big dogs.
06:03They got over the mountaintop.
06:05They did what Messi couldn't.
06:06They know Messi wants to win this game for PSG.
06:10They can get bounced by Juventus.
06:13They can get bounced by Real Madrid, Man City.
06:15They can get bounced by even Botafogo Palmeiras, right?
06:18Like a worthy South American opponent in their eyes.
06:21They cannot lose to an MLS team, and specifically Inter-Miami, MLS's Messi team.
06:30They cannot.
06:31That's how all these European clubs are approaching any game against Inter-Miami.
06:36So this was the Jeremy Lin game for LeBron and D-Wade, where they said, it ain't happening against us.
06:44Enough is enough.
06:46Exactly.
06:46I'm putting a lot of money on Inter-Miami.
06:48I like the way this is shaping up.
06:49So let's get headlines, because I want to get to this Randy Moeller story, and I wanted to do it at the 3 o'clock hour, and we never got there, and I don't want to run out of time.
06:57Headlines brought to you by Durrell Hyundai.
06:59Choose from over 1,300 new Hyundai models in inventory, like the Tucson Sonata and Palisade.
07:04Remember, when it comes to Hyundai, the great deals are at Durrell Hyundai.
07:07This might be my favorite text in show history.
07:10Benjamin Kramaski, Tush Push, Automatic.
07:13We go.
07:16Let's go.
07:16We got to bring out the razzle-dazzle.
07:19Let's do something, hell.
07:20And just to give you one more quick note here, just to give you an idea, there was two other MLS teams.
07:29The Seattle Sounders lost all three games in Group B.
07:34To be fair, they were in the group of death.
07:36Botafogo, PSG, and Atletico Madrid, unfair that they're even in all three of those teams in a group together.
07:41Then LAFC had one draw and two losses.
07:43So outside of Inter-Miami, teams went 0, 1, and 5 in group play.
07:51Inter-Miami went one win, two draws, zero losses.
07:55That in itself to show you.
07:57Already they're playing with house money.
07:58Correct.
07:59Gotcha.
08:00And then if they do, by some miracle, get out of the group, excuse me, win this game, by some miracle.
08:06I mean, you go look at the teams that are on their side of the bracket, and on the other side, they're literally going to have to go through European powerhouse, European powerhouse, European powerhouse, the rest of the way.
08:21So it would, Hawk, if they really are the team of destiny, and they, by some miracle, win this tournament, again, it's not going to happen.
08:27But if, by some miracle, they do, it would be, without a doubt, the greatest underdog story in the history of sports winning a title.
08:36More than Buster Douglas beating Mike Tyson.
08:39Not familiar, but yes.
08:42You sound like you have no guts, Solana.
08:45Can you imagine what it's going to cost to get to those brownies at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale if they were to win the Club World Cup?
08:53I'll never get the greatest brownies on earth again.
08:55Let's go get some brownies and don't bet your money on this damn game.
09:03Listen, man, don't question me about my guts, Mr. Drink a Half-Gallon of Milk.
09:07I mean, you do literally have bubble guts for the rest of your life.
09:10No wonder you have IBS.
09:12Yeah, yeah, yeah, all day.
09:14Yeah, ingested a little too much milk.
