00:00Morning. Thanks for joining me for your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04A real messy picture across the country today. A wet day for some, but some warm sunshine in other areas.
00:10It's in the west where we've got a lot of the rain this morning.
00:12Some heavy bursts of rain over parts of northwest England especially.
00:16It is trying to move eastwards. The Pennines sheltering much of northeast England.
00:21So a good deal of dry weather here, but even here some showery rain likely later on.
00:26Northern Ireland after a damp start. Should get a bit brighter later too.
00:30And a good part of Scotland also cheering up this afternoon, although showers will keep going in the northwest.
00:35Some patchy rain for a time over south Wales, southwest England, but much of the south will be dry as it brightens up later.
00:42East Wales, the Midlands, East Anglia, perhaps southeast England feeling really quite warm and humid.
00:46If we get a bit of sunshine, those temperatures jumping up into the mid-20s, 25, 26, 27, just about possible in a few places.
00:54But that does need the sun to come out to lift those temperatures further.
00:58Well, it stays cloudy, feeling quite humid in this zone over northern England and north Wales.
01:02And it's quite breezy again in places as well.
01:05Fresher feel come the afternoon for Scotland and northern Ireland, with those showers keeping going in the northwest.
01:11This zone of cloudier weather with some outbreaks of rain will trickle a little further south through this evening.
01:16So we may see a bit of rain turning up over the Midlands, spreading back into parts of south Wales through the nights.
01:22But again, much of the south will stay dry and further north turning a bit drier as well.
01:27Fresher air in here, so temperatures dipping down to 12, 13, maybe a little lower in some rural spots.
01:33Whereas for a good part of England and Wales, the temperature is holding up at 15 or 16 Celsius.
01:38So quite a warm and humid feel again here on Wednesday.
01:41Tomorrow could be quite damp over parts of southwest Wales.
01:45Rain drizzle on and off, nothing too heavy.
01:48The odd shower getting into western Scotland again.
01:50But for many places, tomorrow looks dry.
01:53Again, we should see some sunshine lifting the temperatures across east Anglia and the southeast.
01:58And it should be a much drier day for northern England as well.
02:02Some brightness coming in here, lifting the temperatures into the low 20s.
02:06But we could see higher temperatures across the southeast and east Anglia, the humidity building here.
02:10And just look at this, some threatening showers down to the southwest.
02:14They could move north or we could see some coming up from France later on tomorrow.
02:19So that's an area we need to watch as the heat builds again across the southeastern corner.
02:23A plume of warmer, more humid air pushes in.
02:26That could spark some thunderstorms later tomorrow and into the first part of Thursday across parts of southeast England.
02:33Aidan has more on that and more details going further ahead into the weekend in our week ahead forecast.
02:39You can catch that on our YouTube channel.
