00:00Hi there.
00:01The low pressure that brought spells of rain, showers and some thunderstorms as well as
00:04a strong breeze tends to move slowly eastwards during the evening and overnight.
00:09Still plenty of showers wrapped around this system as it moves through.
00:12But by midnight those showers are becoming fewer and further between and largely restricted
00:16to northern and eastern parts of the country.
00:19By dawn most of these showers are disappearing, still just one or two left.
00:23A lot of cloud here and cloud thickening towards the southwest with outbreaks of rain returning
00:27to Cornwall and Devon by the end of the night, keeping things mild overnight here.
00:32Where we do get some clear spells in between, low double figures, high single figures, those
00:35kinds of temperatures.
00:36A fresh start, in other words, to Wednesday.
00:39But a bright start for Western Scotland, plenty of sunshine for Northern Ireland, parts of
00:42Wales, into the Midlands and the southeast.
00:45We do still have a lot of lingering cloud across eastern and northern parts of the country.
00:49One or two showers still possible through central and southern Scotland, the far north of England.
00:54But these will be few and far between, plenty of fine and bright and warmer weather away
01:01from the showers, 25 to 27 Celsius in the southeast.
01:05But towards the southwest we do have lots of cloud and that cloud and these patchy outbreaks
01:10of rain push through the rest of the southwest into south and west Wales as well as Northern
01:14Ireland overnight.
01:15In fact, across Northern Ireland the rain will be heavy at times, fairly showery in nature
01:20but some heavy bursts and they push into parts of southwest Scotland by dawn.
01:26Ahead of the rain we do have clear spells, temperatures again dipping into the low double figures, high
01:33single figures in places.
01:35And that's where the best of the sunshine will be on Thursday, the far north and east of the
01:39UK because elsewhere we've got low pressure sending this weather front in and, as has
01:45happened in previous unsettled bouts through the summer, the heaviest rain will be across
01:49Northern Ireland, Western Scotland, Northwest England on Thursday.
01:54Showery in nature, so on and off but some heavy bursts likely.
01:58We keep some sunshine in the far northeast of Scotland and the far southeast of England
02:02where it will be feeling hot once again with temperatures in one or two spots reaching 28
02:07or 29 Celsius.
02:09Low to mid-20s elsewhere, feeling more humid with the airflow from the south and southwest.
02:16But a lot of cloud here and there and similar conditions into Friday before low pressure brings
02:22more widespread rain and showers through the weekend.
02:26And that means that we're all going to see some rain, welcome rain for many, before perhaps
02:32a change again later next week.
