00:00What's a club night with Alex Earl look like? It was lit. It was really lit. It was my first
00:04like actual strip club. Oh, it was a strip club. Okay. It was a strip club and it was my first
00:08like actual one and it was magical. How are you? I'm good. How are you? Oh, it's so good to see you.
00:16It's so good to have you in person too, by the way. I know during the weird times of COVID,
00:20we'd Zoom, saw you back at Lollapalooza and now we're in the studio. Yeah, we've never hit it
00:25like this before. No, I didn't know you were that short. I thought you were like 6'2".
00:30That's what everybody says and I like that. I like that. Big, like tall energy. Yeah, I like that.
00:35That's good. That's great. No, it's so good to see you and it's so fun to watch all your success
00:40and like over the past few years, but 2025 has really been something special, right? It's been
00:44special. Oh my gosh. Can I tell you real quick too, for Blue Strips, love your song so much.
00:48Thank you. It works for everything. I'll be in the gym, I'll be driving, I'll be crying.
00:52It fits every scenario. You cry to Blue Strips? Yeah. No, but Blue Strips, I thought,
00:58this is so dumb. I literally thought you were singing about like, you know, the Sour Strips.
01:02No way. Did you actually? I'm notoriously bad at lyrics. Like in the car, I'll make them up,
01:07but Blue Strips is so catchy that I'm like, you know, I'm singing Blue Strips. There's a Sour
01:11Strips. That's actually better. I might, I'm going to, I'm going to rethink about that. Yeah. Maybe a
01:15brand opportunity. Whoa. I don't know what the second lyric could be after that. People said that
01:20in like, uh, what are, pregnancy tests maybe? Oh, no, it's not that. Can you imagine that song
01:26to the announcement? Yeah. In front of grandmas, they're crying. What do you mean? Um, but thank
01:32you for explaining what it means on Instagram. Uh, I now know I have to go through the lyrics
01:37and like, you know, check them all out and stuff. But, um, congrats on that song. You got
01:41another song out Friday. It's getting buzzed online. Um, yeah. People excited. Like, are you excited
01:47for this song? Obviously I feel like, yes, but like, you know, this new era, get an album
01:52in July. Tell me about all the things. I'm really excited about the song coming out. Um,
01:57it kind of, it's the first song I wrote from this album and actually wrote it like, I think
02:02close to two years ago. Whoa. So yeah. So before the other album even came out, do you mean
02:06to do that? Like you write it and thinking that's the first one I wrote it thinking it's
02:10the first one for the next era. I knew it wasn't the era I was in. Um, but yeah, it's funny
02:15because I feel like I was kind of working on this album at the same time I was working
02:18on the other album sort of, but yeah, so it's the one that started it and it's, it kind
02:23of kicks off the album a little bit. That's amazing. There's so many things I want to get
02:26caught up on. By the way, congrats on Miami swim week. That was insane. It's so fun.
02:30Let's go through your mind when you're like walking in like crazy heels. That's why I thought
02:33you were six foot and then you're singing. What's going through your mind during that?
02:38You know what? I was actually really nervous because it was my first time being at like a fashion
02:42event. So I was nervous because of that. And then I performed this song that's coming
02:46out Friday. It was my first time doing that. Um, and it's kind of a tough song to sing.
02:50Like the, the course is really high and stuff. So I was worried about pulling that off the
02:54heels. I was like, I was like, fuck the runway was wet. I was like, yeah, a lot of shit going
02:59on. I mean the clip you've hosted, you didn't do it, but did you get a, like a crack of that
03:03thing? No, I'm not like, I'm not like, I wasn't too savvy with it. Yeah. Well, you can't
03:08I mean, it goes wrong. It's like terrible. Oh my God. The lead model. Alex rolls down.
03:14Oh, by the way, what is it? Like, how do you like Miami? I feel like, you know, you get
03:18in a tour and be in so many places. How'd you like being there for a little bit?
03:22You know what? I, anytime I've, I've only been twice. I went when I was like 15 and this
03:27was my second time, but I think I want to live there one day. I really love it. I love the
03:31weather and I like how the sky is like always on the verge of a thunderstorm.
03:35Oh yeah. So sick, but I don't know. What do you think about it? I liked it. I love
03:39how you also ask questions like back, you know what I mean? I love people do that, but
03:42I was like, feel like you, you asked the returning question as well. Um, I love it. Um, we're
03:48on the radio. We were on the radio there and it was fun to get down and we did a swim week
03:52once, which is crazy. Anna did it once, which was wild. So she got to walk and like, it's
03:57such a crazy world and they take it so, you know, it's insane. Great vibes though,
04:01right? Yeah. Like it's fun. Empowering. Everyone's so nice. Yeah. Oh, big
04:05difference from being 15, obviously though. Like a difference to now, like you're in the
04:09club. What's a club night with Alex Earl look like? It was lit. It was really lit. It was
04:13my first like actual strip club. Oh, it was a strip club. Okay. It was a strip club and
04:18it was my first like actual one and it was magical. I love the strip club. It's all like
04:22your Christmas morning. I'm definitely going to go back. Did they play your song? Um, I performed
04:27actually. Oh my gosh. Yeah. That's the only reason they let me into the strip club. No,
04:30but I'll go back. Is it because the age thing? Yeah. Oh, well, the pics look cool. It looked
04:38like, you know, it was really fun. You belonged. Thank you. Do you mean that? Yeah. Okay. You're
04:42like resume lately of like, obviously all the cool things, but I'm more into like, okay,
04:46she's doing swim week. You have a pig on a red carpet. Um, shots of Wilbur. Was that from
04:51your mind? Just like one day you're like, I'm going to bring a pig at the ECMs. Absolutely. I
04:55I've always wanted a miniature pig. And then I found out that miniature pigs don't exist.
05:00So what are all these small pigs out about? They're just baby pigs. But if you get one,
05:03they're going to grow up and you're going to have like a 300 pound pig. So, so all you parents
05:08out there thinking about Christmas, like giving your kid a pig. Don't do it. Don't do it. There's
05:13no teacup pigs. They just get big. And apparently like, no, I don't know. It's, it's not a real
05:19thing though. So if people like try to sell you on that, it's a scam. They're scamming you.
05:23Well, piglets. Nope. Don't do it. Um, I wanted to ask you, do you like, like hearing your voice
05:29when you sing? Um, I like hearing my songs because I make songs to like relate to how I'm feeling at
05:36the moment. Yeah. So that's kind of therapeutic for me. Like anytime I'm making a song, it's just
05:40something I want to listen to. Um, but like talking boys, no, that's fucking weird. No. What's your
05:44voicemail? Like my voice. I don't have one. I don't think that's probably past. Right. Wait,
05:49do you have one? No, I should though. I mean, it's kind of my job at talk. I should have,
05:52I should have a really nice voice on, but I don't, I just leave it to the robot, but
05:56you should do it. You know, I think people would pay you to do their voicemail. I don't
06:01know. Well, side business, side business, blue strips, pregnancy test, voicemails, setting
06:06up your business portfolio. No, I remember seeing you on Tik TOK all those years ago, which
06:10is just wild to think about. Um, what, what's your for you page like these days? Hmm. Well,
06:16there's a lot of like my songs because it's probably like, cause that's what I meant. Like
06:20you hear your voice all the time. It's gotta be kind of weird. And it's actually really
06:22weird. I'm definitely like skip, skip, but, um, I don't know. I really like, there's
06:27a lot of videos of like little kids singing the songs, which is really cute. Um, I like
06:31those. No, I'm just kidding. No, literally. Really? Oh my God. Like, should you be saying
06:36that? Probably not. He's holding a teacup pig. Like what's happening? Yeah. But I don't
06:40know. It's that. And then a lot of like makeup videos and stuff. I like watching people
06:43getting ready. So. And then like starting on it, obviously like getting to put your music
06:47out and that's kind of where it blew up at first. What's your relationship to it now?
06:51Oh, I'm still so grateful for it. I mean, it has its, uh, it has its perks and it's not
06:56perks, but I think overall it's a beautiful thing. And it's like, I wouldn't be here where
07:00I am without it. So I've got to give my gratitude to it. Um, it's definitely, it's like difficult
07:06sometimes with, cause everyone likes to give their opinion, whether that's like nice or not.
07:10And you have to look at it. And I think that's hard sometimes, but ultimately I'm very grateful
07:15for it. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. I mean, look how much stuff it's brought in you. It's so cool.
07:19Like even the people you've gotten to work with, speaking of things that are out right now, Sexy
07:22Red on the remix, what a, what a collab. I feel like you have the best people like fit with you
07:29so well. Tell me about how that came together. Well, Sexy Red has always been one of my dream
07:32collabs. I love Sexy Red. Um, my last tour, anytime I'd go on stage, my walkout song would be
07:40get it sexy. Oh yeah. Yeah. So I just, it gets me going every time. And I got to meet
07:45her and work with her for that. And it was so special and I'm really, I couldn't be happier
07:50about it. Hey, that's all you can ask for. I mean, the, the list is, is wild. I mean,
07:55between Jelly Roll, Diplo, I love the Cole Wetzel song, Bailey Zimmerman, um, artists all across
08:01the board. What is like the decision now where it comes to these collabs? Like how do you choose
08:06what feels right? Well, for this specific album, it's, I mean, it's always been, this
08:11has been the situation, but I always try and work with people that I like and that I listen
08:15to because I think that's how you get the most authentic music. But for this album, I have
08:21three of my like dream collapse on it. Um, and I don't know, like there's people I'm genuinely
08:28just the biggest fans of, like some of my favorite artists. So I'm really excited, um, for people
08:32to find out about those. That's so cool. We can't wait. Speaking of like the collabs,
08:37I just bumped into Jelly at something and he just gushes about you. He's just the nicest
08:42guy. What are you going to say about the dude? Cause obviously we see like his story and all
08:45his great music, but what about Jelly Roll as a human? Dude, the greatest human. I, I'll always
08:51say good things about him and his family. They're nothing but sweet. And, um, I don't know.
08:56I'm, I'm in awe of how he handles and deals with everything that he does. Cause that is one
09:01busy man. Yeah. But somehow he's always the most like radiantly gratitude filled person in the
09:06room every time. And I think that's so beautiful. Yeah. Shout out to Jelly. Shout out. So Coachella,
09:11I mean, you've done it. You got sold out arenas in hometown Huntsville. Um, what's been the most
09:16like surreal moment on stage for you? Maybe this year, cause you've done so much this year. I mean,
09:21Coachella. Yeah. And playing Coachella was really surreal for me. Um, at this was the end of last
09:27year, but hometown arena, that was definitely my moment. I was like, Holy shit, this is really
09:32real. Um, but probably those two as, as of most recently, but there's always a moment anytime I'm
09:38on stage where I'm like, this is my life and that's fucking crazy. And I've, I've wanted to do
09:44it since I was a little girl. And I think it's really cool every time. No, it's amazing. So happy
09:48for you. Um, in the next project, you talked about how it's like the most real and like the rawest
09:52work you've done. What do you think makes it that way? Is it like just the experiences you've been
09:57through or is it you as an artist getting more comfortable with like sharing your stories and
10:00almost that muscle memory of writing? Well, I think anything I've ever put out has always been
10:05just how I feel in that exact moment. And I just tell stories as soon as they come to fruition in
10:11my life or it's like, as soon as I'm experiencing them. Um, and I don't know this one, I was just
10:16like hyper honest about everything. And I think, I don't know what people are expecting, but it's
10:22definitely, there's definitely a lot of vulnerability in so many ways on the project. I'm really excited
10:26to get into that. Cause I think my first project was very, very vulnerable. The, um, it was like
10:33an EP or whatever, but, and I think it kind of touches on that a little bit in some ways. And
10:37I'm really excited about it. Yeah. Can't wait to hear about it. You talk about dream collabs. Um,
10:43and you're not sure what, like we're going to expect. What can you tell us to expect though from
10:47the project without saying too much? Hmm. It's very sixties inspired. Sixties. Wow. But also like
10:542010 trap inspired. What a collab. Yeah. That is the wildest thing. You couldn't ask AI to make
11:00that right now. Wow. Both my favorite things. It's just a combination of all my favorite shit
11:04truly. And that's, I don't know. It's fun. It's so fucking fun. Yeah. What are the collabs? Uh,
11:09what are their names rhyme with? Oh man, I'm just excited. I can't wait. Um, by the way. Okay.
11:17We'll go back to some of the older collabs. If each of your collabs were a drink at a bar,
11:21like which drink would they be? We'll start with a jelly roll. Jelly roll? Yeah. What's like a fan?
11:26I feel like he'd be like a fancy whiskey. Yeah. Yeah. Like a whiskey sour. Sure. I don't even,
11:30I've never had that either. It just feels right. It feels right. Right. It's like the thing in a jar.
11:34Yeah. Or maybe like moonshine. Oh my gosh. That's a good one. Okay. Coetzel might be the Bud Light.
11:40Or is that Bailey? No, Coetzel's tequila. Okay. Straight tequila. Um, Bailey, hmm. Bailey would
11:48be like a, like a Corona maybe. Right? Yeah. We'll class it up a notch. What about Diplo? Diplo?
11:55Like he'd be like vodka maybe. Yeah. I think you nailed all those. Really? I think you would agree.
11:59Comment if, no, what you are. Oh my gosh. Okay. So we got the remix, um, the tours on deck. What's one
12:06thing you want people to know about? Like where you're just at in this moment of life? I don't
12:10know. I'm, I'm, I'm really nervous and excited for what's come and I, and I can't wait to see
12:15everybody on tour. Well, it's always good catching up with you. Um, what's on like,
12:19you got a vacation plan soon? Uh, I mean, what are you gonna take a break at all? What's the dream
12:22like relaxation spot? Um, I don't really have a break planned, but, um, I'd like to go to an island
12:30cause I want to get a tan, but like a real one. I keep getting these spray tans and then I have to keep
12:34getting them. They just never stick. They last like four days and then it's, it's ratchet. So
12:38you got to go again, but probably, I don't know. Well, you got any good island recommendations?
12:44Uh, I mean, gosh, I'm, I love the Hawaii's. I've never been to Hawaii. Yeah. I'm really
12:48excited. I'm going soon. Hit all four or five, you know, that you want to visit. I think it'd be
12:52great. You'd love it. Fuck yeah. Get some pineapples. Yeah. Some of those Corona's we were talking
12:56about, you know, the classy ones. Um, but yeah. And then what about like goal-wise professionally? Is
13:02there anything that you like want to accomplish in 2025? Well, I don't know about 2025, but my
13:06biggest goal is I want a Grammy. Oh man. I mean, Hey, you're close. You gotta be close. Um, I can
13:14see it for sure. Well, congrats on everything. It's always good catching up with you and I can't
13:17wait to see you on the road. Um, well, Jesse, thank you so much. I hope I see you sooner than
13:22the last time. So good to have you in studio and congrats on everything. Can't wait for the song
13:28Friday, the album in July 18th. Thank you so much for the time. And yeah, we'll see
13:32you on the road. Thanks for having me. Amazing.
