00:00So Dodgers and Padres. Let's get to this last night. I mean, we know that if there's one team
00:05that seems to have the thorn with the Dodgers, Matt, in the past, it was the Padres. No question
00:10about that. This year, I don't know that that will be the case. But as you can see in the standings,
00:15they're right there. I mean, San Diego is just a couple of games out after losing yesterday.
00:19They fell back one. So they're 37 and 28. Dodgers are 40 and 27. Boy, the Giants keep proving
00:25everybody wrong, huh? 38 and 28, including me. They keep winning, unfortunately, for Arizona.
00:30A lot of injuries seem to be falling back. And then, you know, the Rockies had nine wins. Then
00:36they beat a team that I don't want to mention. I don't want to get into it. I'll get in some
00:39trouble here on the show. But the Rockies had a couple of wins in between all these losses that
00:43are coming again for them. So not going to be four teams, Matt, in the West, right? Is there,
00:49will there be three making it? I think there could be. I definitely think there could be. I think the
00:54Padres, you know, we went into the year kind of looking at the Giants, liking the pitching,
00:58worried about the offense, thinking they could hang around. But would they quite get there?
01:02I really believe in them now. I know that they're winning a lot of close games. Like you look at
01:08actually all three of those teams at the top. It's just a lot of one run games either way.
01:12The Padres, especially the Giants, especially. And, you know, you never know. Sometimes that luck
01:17evens out as you get into the second half. But I really like what they're doing in San Francisco. I think
01:21just the pitching is so strong from both the starters and the bullpen. And I think they're
01:25going to find a way to keep winning games. They've set themselves up nicely. The Padres are
01:29interesting. That King injury is big. They need a couple of their bats that they have, that they
01:33veteran bats that they went into the year counting on. They need them to really step up. Otherwise,
01:38they might be a little light with the bats, as well as the rotation getting a little bit depleted.
01:43But they're a very good team. And like you said, you know, they seem to have the Dodgers number.
01:47That's why I think for the Dodgers, they had to get that one yesterday. I mean, it sounds crazy,
01:50obviously, to say an early June game in any way is a must win. It's not a must win in the grand
01:55scheme of things. But I think for this series, that was an important win for them to get that one
01:59with one of their better pitchers, one of their few pitchers who's actually healthy and alive, still
02:03going. And to get him in there and to get that win, even though he didn't pitch that well,
02:08I think was important for them. And they did, you know, they did pull it out there. But I think we're
02:13going to see after this series, there's another series in between for each team. I think the Dodgers
02:17play the Giants. So that'll be fun. And then you got four more between these two teams again. So I
02:22think in about 10, 11 days, we're going to find out quite a bit about this race. Still early,
02:27nothing's ever going to be settled by mid June. But it's going to go a long way, I think, towards
02:30shaping the rest of the summer and what these teams feel like, okay, this is what we need to
02:35address. This is what we need to get to compete with the teams in our division.
