02:38you will not stop us or slow us down.
02:40All of this as the man mistakenly deported to a notorious prison in El Salvador,
02:45Kilmar Abrego Garcia, is now back in the U.S. facing charges now.

02:53His attorney calling the charges, quote, preposterous.
02:56ABC's senior reporter Catherine Foulders leads us off tonight.
03:02Tonight, protests escalating into conflict in Los Angeles as the Trump administration's
03:07aggressive deportation efforts sparked fear and outrage across the country.

03:59despite interference by members of the public.
04:01The Department of Homeland Security calling for an end to the violence against ICE officers

04:30Abrego Garcia, now the subject of a two-count federal indictment.
04:33Those charges stemming from this 2022 traffic stop in Tennessee,
04:38where Abrego Garcia was pulled over driving an SUV with nine other people inside.
04:42He's hauling these people for money.
04:45You got an a** hauler is what he's doing.
04:47The Department of Justice alleging Abrego Garcia was part of a human smuggling ring

04:57His attorney called the charges preposterous,
04:59and his wife had previously denied he had any affiliation with the gang.
05:03Witt sources tell ABC News that the decision to indict Abrego Garcia
05:07led to the abrupt resignation of a top federal prosecutor in Tennessee.

06:18And this creek overflowing its banks in ozone.
06:21And with tonight, that flash flooding threat is stretching into parts of New England.
06:26Heavy rain already starting to come down there.
06:29Threatening to up and weaken plants and travel.
06:32Witt.
06:32Morgan Norwood, thank you.
06:33Let's get right to meteorologist Jeff Smith from our New York station, WABC.
06:37And Jeff, how long will this dangerous weather last?
06:42Witt, we have multiple rounds of additional thunderstorms during the weekend,
06:45which will impact the same areas that have been hammered the past 24 to 48 hours.
06:48We've had an ongoing line of storms, northern Mississippi, Alabama, causing wind damage.
06:52That moves into northwestern Georgia, including the Atlanta metro area, during the evening hours.
06:57And then tomorrow, our focus will shift to northern Texas and southern Oklahoma.
07:01That's a moderate risk, a level 4 out of 5 threat, a very large hail,
07:05destructive wind gusts of 80 to 100 miles per hour, with storms that move on through that area.
07:10In the northeast, meanwhile, we've had some flooding rainfall in localized spots.
07:14That's going to be moving offshore during the next few hours.
07:17More showers returning by later Sunday.
07:19Witt.
07:19All right, we'll stay on top of it.
07:20Jeff Smith, thank you.
07:22Now to Coco Gauff making history at the French Open today,

07:56That's out!
07:59Coco has conquered the clay!
08:02A historic win for the 21-year-old, besting world number one, Irina Sabalenka for the first French Open title by an American since Serena Williams back in 2015.
08:13Gauff becoming only the third American this century to win.
08:16The match thrilling from the start, Gauff losing a close first set, but making a massive comeback in the second set as Sabalenka began struggling and dominating in the third.
08:28Sabalenka fired this shot wide on match point, Gauff dropping to the floor, pressing her palms to her face, racing through the crowd to hug her parents.
08:38Yeah, it really came down to the last few points, but overall I'm just really happy with the fight that I managed today.
08:44She now takes home her second Grand Slam title, avenging a devastating loss here in 2022.
08:49The tournament began with Gauff forgetting to bring her rackets to the court.
09:08The star writing this online, oops, I forgot the last one.
09:11Tonight, as she becomes the first woman to rally from a set-down to win their first major two titles, another box is checked.
09:19Witt, it's been a great season for American women in tennis, with Madison Keys winning the Australian Open earlier this year.
09:26As for Coco, she's sharing she actually had a dream about winning the French Open back in 2021, and she says if you can dream it, you can do it.
09:35Witt?
09:36That dream finally coming true. Inez, thank you.
09:38Now to the war in Ukraine and our exclusive interview with Ukrainian President Zelensky.

09:58Tonight, an astonishing new video of Ukraine's coordinated drone attack on Russia's Air Force.
10:04A drone's eye view as it rises up from atop a truck, surveilling the military airfield.
10:11Multiple Russian warplanes already in flames, including nuclear-capable heavy bombers worth billions.
10:19The drone passes by the burning aircraft, then zeroes in on its target.
10:24Ukraine's President Vladimir Zelensky in an exclusive interview telling us that the drones hidden in large containers on the trucks were driven to locations by Russian truck drivers who had no idea that their cargo would destroy the country's own warplanes.
10:41Zelensky telling me operation spiderweb, 18 months in the making, was meant to send a message to Russia.
10:50We have to prepare such plans because Russia can't, because we don't know, we don't really know if they will stop this war.
10:58They don't want. They don't want to stop the war. This is the problem.
11:03You're convinced of that.
11:08Zelensky saying they prepared plans because they are not convinced Russia wants to stop the war because Putin, he said, feels no pressure.
11:18The Ukrainian president urging President Trump to impose new, stronger sanctions on Russia.
11:24This video circulating online showing missiles plummeting into Lutsk, drones and missiles also targeting Kyiv, where we are.
11:35Those overnight strikes across Ukraine killing at least 14 people, wounding dozens more.
11:41And there is no end in sight.
11:43And Whit, despite ongoing ceasefire negotiations and more scheduled for this week, there has been no sign of progress.
11:50Even an exchange of soldiers' bodies scheduled for today did not happen. Whit?
11:55All right, Martha, thank you.
11:57And tune in to This Week tomorrow morning for more of Martha's exclusive interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

13:09My message is still the same.
13:11Travis, if you're out there seeing us, we'd like you to turn yourself in.
13:14Authorities releasing new images and recent doorbell camera video of Decker, who they believe killed his three daughters during a court-appointed custody visit.
13:23The bodies of five-year-old Olivia, eight-year-old Evelyn, and nine-year-old Peyton were found near a campsite on Monday.
13:30Officials say the sisters likely died by asphyxiation.
13:34Court documents show that back in September, overnight visits with his daughters had been revoked.
13:39The court orders citing neglect of parental duties and emotional or physical problems affecting his ability to parent.
13:46The lawyer for the mother of the three girls says the mother believes Decker recently displayed symptoms of PTSD.
13:53I think that towards the end of the girls' lives, the last week or so, that just really spiraled.
14:01He felt really alone.
14:02Witt investigators said that Decker made multiple Google searches late last month about living and working in Canada.
14:09Investigators also noting that the girls' remains were discovered 11 miles from the Canadian border.
14:15Witt.
14:15A disturbing case tonight.
14:17Melissa, Dawn, thank you.
14:18Now to the 21-year-old Seattle man.
14:20Prosecutors say is the ringleader in a string of burglaries at the homes of several high-profile athletes.
14:26The charges he's now facing and the search for other possible suspects.
14:30Here's ABC's Alex Stone.
14:32Tonight, these are the images prosecutors say led them to a 21-year-old they allege has been the ringleader behind a series of high-end burglaries at the homes of big-name athletes.
14:43Officials say Earl Riley IV is one of the men seen in this video shared by Seattle Seahawks star Richard Sherman in March and that it's one example of the targeted break-ins.
14:53Court documents say Mariners center fielder Julio Rodriguez, pitcher Luis Castillo, and Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell are all victims, hundreds of thousands worth of goods stolen from them.
15:05Prosecutors say it was this Jeep Grand Cherokee that helped solve the case, saying it's linked to all of the burglaries.
15:11Riley is now facing four counts of residential burglary and robbery because Sherman's family was at home at the time of the burglary.
15:18Professional athletes have increasingly become targets of burglars, from the NBA to the NFL.
15:24Last year, police say burglars broke into the home of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
15:29And Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelsey as their Kansas City Chiefs took the field for Monday night football.
15:35Those brazen break-ins prompted both leagues and the FBI to issue a security alert for all players.
15:41And Whit, tonight, King County, Washington prosecutors say they're now focused on finding other members of the alleged burglary ring.
15:48Whit.
15:48Alex Stone for us tonight. Thank you.
15:50Now to a seismic shift in college sports.
15:53This fall, colleges and universities in the NCAA's top divisions will be allowed to directly pay athletes for the first time ever.
16:02ABC's Christiane Cordero joins us now.
16:04And Christiane, there's also big money on the line for former athletes.
16:07Yeah, there sure is, Whit. This is a game-changer for college sports.
16:11The judge, in this case, signing off on a $2.8 billion settlement that now allows universities to pay their student-athletes directly.
16:20And as you mentioned, it's not just today's student-athletes.
16:22Those who competed in college between 2016 and today are eligible for part of that settlement.
16:28And starting July 1st, for the first time ever, schools will write the checks.
16:32It's streamlining the existing NIL model that has been in effect since 2021.
16:36The judge, in this case, said this agreement allows the universities to share their athletic revenues with the student-athletes driving them.
16:43But still a lot of questions and likely more legal challenges.
16:46Are these athletes considered employees of their universities?
16:49If so, are they entitled to collective bargaining?
16:52The NCAA's president acknowledged this is a transition period and said there will be bumps in the road.
16:57Whit.
16:58Christiane Cordero, thank you.
16:59There is still much more ahead on World News Tonight this Saturday, including a major recall of eggs, possibly linked to salmonella.

17:12And what the California Eagle Cam just revealed, is Gizmo ready for her first flight?
17:17Next tonight, the FAA says it will continue to limit flights in and out of Newark Liberty Airport through December.
17:26It wants to reduce delays during ongoing construction.
17:30This follows a cascade of issues caused by equipment outages and air traffic control staffing shortages.
17:36We have an important recall tonight involving eggs potentially linked to a salmonella outbreak, according to the FDA.
17:42August Egg Company is voluntarily recalling 1.7 million organic and cage-free brown eggs after 79 people have gotten sick.
17:5121 had to be transported to hospitals.
17:53The eggs were sold under multiple brand names across nine states.
17:57The CDC has a list of the recalled eggs on its website, cdc.gov.
18:02When we come back, the moment of truth for Gizmo the Eaglet.
18:05To the end, Axon, the magic moment captured this morning on the Eagle Cam in Big Bear, California.
18:14Gizmo, 13 weeks old, appearing to stumble out of the nest, but then flying to a nearby tree.
18:20Gizmo following behind older sibling, Sonny, whose first flight was on Monday.
18:27A rite of passage too important to miss.
18:30It's one of life's biggest milestones, but the night before her high school graduation,
18:36Fort Worth senior Laura Wiley was admitted to the hospital.
18:39A kidney infection had progressed to severe sepsis.
18:42When hospital staff found out about the terrible timing, they secretly got to work.
18:47Now turn your tassel from the right to the left.
18:52The next morning, Laura watched the live stream from her hospital bed, cap, gown and all.
18:57Then, the unexpected.
19:02Laura wheeled down the hallway.
19:05The staff cheering her on as she wiped away tears.
19:10Waiting in the lounge, Laura's assistant principal to present her diploma in person.
19:16Tonight, Laura truly grateful.
19:18Healthcare workers, they already have enough on their plate.
19:21They're super busy, but these angels really took the time.
19:25And right by her side, mom, Brandy, who adopted Laura from foster care.
19:29All they saw was a brokenhearted mother and a very sick girl who was going to miss out on one of life's biggest milestones.
