00:00The biggest story, I think, in fantasy this week was the loss of Corbin Burns to everybody in fantasy baseball.
00:06Because that's a guy that, as George and I were talking about earlier in the show, Gray, that you did your fantasy baseball draft.
00:14You took him in the whatever round, third, I don't know.
00:17He's your ESP second.
00:18He's your SP1.
00:19You're like, okay, feeling good here.
00:21Now I can wait a little bit.
00:22Maybe don't have to load up on pitching.
00:24I'll just get some guys later.
00:25And boom, he's out for the season.
00:27So there's no really replacing him.
00:29But just the nature of baseball at this point, I guess.
00:33Yeah, no, totally.
00:34Yeah, no, you get Corbin Burns at your draft.
00:38You're feeling good, but you're like, you know what?
00:40I just want to make sure I have someone else behind him.
00:44So I'm going to grab Blake Snell.
00:46And then you're like, well, you know what?
00:49I feel like I need one more big arm.
00:52So I'm going to grab Tyler Glasnow.
00:54And then you're like, well, let's see.
00:57What else we got?
00:57Aaron Nola?
00:59He seems good.
01:00Yeah.
01:01No, I mean, it's just the nature.
01:02I mean, I'm kidding, obviously.
01:04But it's just the nature of pitching that, you know, unfortunately, these guys are good
01:10for, you know, a year or two.
01:12And then, unfortunately, because it's just not a natural motion for one's arm, they just
01:18don't last that long.
01:19I mean, sad to say, you know, I wish it wasn't true.
01:25Really, the amazing thing is when you come to healthy pitchers or injured or usually injured
01:30pitchers, I should say, Jacob DeGrom has actually been fairly good.
01:35I wasn't sure if he would stay injured.
01:37So, you know, unfortunately, you do get guys like Corbin Burns and, you know, you have to
01:44sort of figure out what to do when you lose a guy like that.
01:47It's hard.
01:48I mean, I don't know if there's really a replacement for him.
01:51I know that if you're specifically the Diamondbacks, they're looking at Ryan Nelson, who looks pretty
01:57good.
01:58I mean, he's not going to replace Corbin Burns, obviously.
02:01And Eduardo Rodriguez just came back from the IL.
02:04So, I mean, there is that.
02:05But, yeah, it's just the nature of this fantasy baseball thing that we play.
02:12It's like you can only plan so much and then you have a guy lose his arm and you're like,
02:18oh, well, I guess I got to figure out plan B.
02:21Great.
02:24How do we handle the top young prospects, right?
02:27Nick Kurtz, my namesake, comes up a couple of, what, a month ago.
02:30It does okay at best here.
02:31Now he's on the IL.
02:33Everyone's talking about Cagli.
02:34I know Craig and I talked about him early on the show here.
02:36How do you handle guys like this?
02:39Even if you don't need them, you already have, you don't have a utility, you don't have a
02:42first base slot open.
02:44Are you still going out and grabbing guys like this, blocking other people?
02:47How are you going about it?
02:48Yeah, I mean, I think it's kind of like a prospect by prospect basis sort of thing.
02:56Like, I don't know if you really can say like a blanket statement, how I handle all prospects.
03:00But I would say that like, you know, specifically Caglione, he looks good.
03:04He looks like he's got big time power.
03:06I like him.
03:07I wouldn't trade anyone or trade or drop anyone really that great.
03:13I think you have to sort of, you know, weigh out the pros and cons of upside on your fantasy team.
03:19If you're looking at a guy like Caglione, you know, maybe you see like a Christian Walker type comparison.
03:26Now Christian Walker has been really terrible this year so far.
03:30So, you know, if it's a shallow league, you're a little bit more aggressive with the rookies.
03:34If it's a deeper league, then you kind of have to hold on to your vets and, you know, pray that you get a little bit upside, maybe at utility.
03:42But yeah, I don't know.
03:43It's a hard thing to say.
03:44Nick Kurtz looks excellent as well.
03:47Actually, I think your boy Kurtz, your namesake there, I think he's actually in a better position to perform because the Sacramento Stadium is just going to – it's just so offensively minded that, you know, Caglione, as much power as he has, Kauffman isn't really the best stadium.
04:07So, yeah, I don't know.
04:08I know that's sort of a roundabout question – I mean, excuse me, answer, but I just don't know if there's a set answer for it because it just depends on the player.
