00:00Hello, very good morning to you. Whatever your plans are today, if you're going outside, it's definitely one for keeping an eye on the sky, as although there will be some dry weather around, showers and intense showers at that will never be too far away.
00:14There's some wetter weather pushing through this morning. That's clearing away towards the east. Plenty of showers then following in behind. So whilst there will be some dry weather at times through this morning, there will also be plenty of showers developing. These were building from the west and making themselves pretty widespread as we go into the afternoon.
00:33The heavier showers, well, across southern parts of Scotland, maybe northern England as well, and also particularly across southern parts of England and Wales. Here, torrential downpours could lead to a substantial amount of rain in just a short space of time, and also frequent lightning hail likely to be some impacts because of these thundery downpours.
00:51Elsewhere, a few showers are quite likely, and they could be quite heavy. And whilst there will be some bright or sunny spells in between the showers, there's a cooler feel to things compared to what you might expect for this time in the year.
01:05Mid to high teens generally is what we're looking at temperature-wise, and so if you get caught in any of those downpours, especially when you factor in the breeze, which is quite strong towards both the southeast and northwest, well, yeah, it is going to feel a little fresh.
01:17It's going to take a little while for those showers to clear away. They're going to continue as we go into the evening, but gradually turning drier as the showers feed off out into the east.
01:28Not all of them clearing away. In fact, some parts of eastern, northeastern England seeing some showers through much of the night, and a few other showers pushing into parts of the west as well.
01:37But most places turning largely dry with some clear skies. As a result, it's going to be a bit of a fresher night this coming night than it was last night.
01:45More places dipping into single figures, low to mid-single figures perhaps across some northern parts, some coastal areas perhaps staying in double digits.
01:53But yeah, a little bit of a fresh start for some of us first thing tomorrow morning.
01:58And then tomorrow, it is looking like the driest day of the weekend for the majority of us. It's not totally dry.
02:04A few showers will be pushing their way through, and they could still be a little bit on the sharp side.
02:09Actually, notice across parts of northwest Scotland, a few more showers coming in through tomorrow than there are going to be through today.
02:17But elsewhere, the showers less intense, less frequent than the downpours that we're going to see.
02:22Nonetheless, the odd rumble of thunder, well, it can't be ruled out, but I'm not expecting any impacts, which is a different story to today.
02:30There will be some decent sunny spells around away from any showers, and because there'll be perhaps a few more showers than on offer today, it's probably going to feel a little bit warmer for some.
02:40Still a cool feel, maybe a little bit disappointing for this stage in June generally.
02:45But if you do get some sunshine, it's going to feel near what you'd expect for this time of year.
02:49Then as we go into next week, and there are some signs that we could see some high pressure ridging from the south.
02:56So there will be some dry weather around, but also some wet spells, particularly towards the north and west.
03:01And there's also the potential that we could see a plume of some warmer air coming in from the south as we head towards Wednesday and Thursday.
03:09If this happens, then yes, our temperatures could rise, especially in the south.
03:13But there's also the risk of some further thunderstorms making their way in.
03:17So some big question marks about what we can expect next week.
03:20Definitely one to keep on top of, but whatever you're up to this weekend, have a great one, and I'll see you soon.
