00:00I know lots of people are hoping for a bit of rain because it's been so dry, so hot recently, but there are also going to be a lot of plans this weekend, outdoor plans, which could be dampened a little bit because there's a weather system that's pushing through through the end of today and overnight.
00:14That's going to bring some rain to many places and behind it, there's quite a bit of cloud. There'll be some damp weather following in as we go through Saturday and on Sunday, a fair few scattered showers to watch out for as well. So quite a changeable picture, some devil in the detail as well. Starting off through the end of today, though, it's wettest towards the north and west, but as I showed, that frontal system does make its way across the whole country.
00:37And so during the early hours of Saturday morning, many places will be pretty cloudy and there will be some rain at times, mainly towards the west, but a swathe of rain pushing across some parts of East Anglia, maybe parts of the southeast as well.
00:50Far eastern areas of northern England and eastern Scotland, largely dry, maybe some clear breaks, but most places will have a cloudy night and it is going to be a blustery night as well as that rain mixed in as well.
01:02As a result of all that, it's not going to be a chilly night, not at all. Temperatures for many staying in the, well, mid-teen Celsius, so a pretty warm start to the day on Saturday morning.
01:12Then through the day itself, staying pretty cloudy across many places. There'll still be a bit of rain hanging back across parts of the far east of England and otherwise it's really going to be across the west where we'll see the wettest weather.
01:26It's not looking especially heavy for many places, but across western Scotland, we're going to continue to see the rainfall totals building up.
01:34And so as a result, there could be a bit of localised flooding, maybe even some travel disruption mixed in because of the rain that's come through Friday and will continue through Saturday as well.
01:43Elsewhere, the rain's looking a little bit lighter, but there is the potential for some heavier bursts of rain to push into parts of the southwest of England as we go through the afternoon.
01:51Across eastern areas, where we're a bit more sheltered from the blustery winds, a greater chance of seeing some bright sunny spells.
01:59And here it's actually going to be pretty warm. Temperatures in the mid-20s Celsius.
02:02Elsewhere, temperatures nearer average for the time of year, a little bit below in some places.
02:07And obviously with the cloud, the rain, the blustery winds, which will be strongest across northern parts, it's going to feel a bit fresher as well.
02:13Then a bit more cloud, a bit more wet weather to come as we go through the evening.
02:18A mixture of rain and a few showery bursts across many places continuing for a time overnight.
02:23Quite thick cloud across southern counties brings some relatively drizzly rain at times.
02:28And further north, showery spells making their way through.
02:32So again, it is going to be quite changeable and quite unsettled.
02:35As a result, temperatures once more not dropping especially low, perhaps a little bit warmer than this coming night across parts of the southeast.
02:42Some places only dropping to around 17 or 18 Celsius, fresher than this further north.
02:47And then through Sunday itself, yes, there will be some sunny breaks at times.
02:51But on the whole, it is again looking quite cloudy.
02:54There'll be some showery bursts, some hefty, perhaps even thundery showers across eastern central England first thing during the morning.
03:00They clear away and then a scattering of showers across other places as we go into the afternoon.
03:05Perhaps a spell of more persistent rain pushing southwards across some eastern central parts of Scotland.
03:10But this doesn't look especially heavy at the moment.
03:13Temperature wise, while still relatively warm towards the east, southeast, mid 20s possible here.
03:18Similar to Saturday, really elsewhere, mid to high teens for most places.
03:23But as we go later on into next week, and there are signs of a return to something more settled.
03:29Yes, there's a weather system coming into the northwest as we go through into Tuesday.
03:33So that could bring some wet weather here.
03:35But there's also high pressure building from the southwest.
03:38That's likely to quieten our weather down.
03:40So I think many places are going to have a lot of fine, dry weather.
03:43And with that, temperatures are set to rise.
03:46Exactly how high they get by the end of the week and into next week, well, that's still all to play for.
03:50But it could turn hot again for some of us.
03:52So stay tuned.
03:54Stay up to date.
03:54Because you'll need to know just how hot it's going to get.
