00:00Morning. It's not quite the calm after the storm, but it is calmer than yesterday for

00:06sure. That being said, there are still some disruptive winds around because whilst the

00:10low that is Storm Dara has now cleared away towards the southeast, you can see tightly

00:15packed ice bars across much of the country indicating we do still have some very windy

00:20weather to come through today. The strongest gusts will be through this morning around

00:23coastal parts, 60 to 70 miles per hour inland, 40 to 50 seems quite likely and the winds

00:29gradually easing through the day. There will also be some wet weather around, particularly

00:33across central eastern parts of England, some heavier outbreaks of rain for a time and a

00:37few showery outbreaks possible around coastal parts further north as well. Further west,

00:42a greater chance of staying dry and there will be some sunshine breaking through at

00:46times too in the east and across more central areas it is going to stay largely cloudy.

00:51It's those winds though that will cause the greatest problems through the day and they

00:54are also going to make it feel pretty cold. So although temperatures are near average

00:58for the time of year, it is going to feel markedly colder than this. Through the evening

01:03and overnight, there will still be further cloud and outbreaks of rain, particularly

01:07across central eastern parts of England. These will gradually be dying out but across the

01:13southeast likely to cling on to some fairly frequent outbreaks of rain through the early

01:17hours of tomorrow morning. Further north and west you are, a greater chance of staying

01:21dry with some clearer skies and with that, particularly across parts of Scotland and

01:24perhaps Northern Ireland, temperatures dropping low enough for some frost in places and there

01:29could even be the odd pocket of fog as well. Elsewhere, with the cloud, it is going to

01:33be a bit milder first thing tomorrow morning. As we go through the day itself then, in the

01:38southeast, yes there will still be some further outbreaks of rain for a time and elsewhere,

01:43the odd spot of drizzly rain possible where the clouds thick enough. But actually towards

01:47the northwest, across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northern and Western England and

01:51Wales, actually a good deal of sunshine at times away from the central southeastern part

01:56of the UK where it's likely to stay pretty cloudy and a little damp. Temperatures on

02:01paper are going to be fairly similar to today really. Actually across parts of Scotland

02:05they may be a degree or so lower. In the southwest, perhaps a degree or so higher. But with lighter

02:10winds than today, it is going to feel slightly less cold for many of us. Now as we go through

02:16the next couple of days, we are going to see high pressure really dominating and it's this

02:20high that's settling our weather down and it's going to lead to a largely calm picture

02:24through the first couple of days of this week. With that then we can expect largely dry weather.

02:30Not totally dry, there will be some outbreaks of drizzly rain around but it won't necessarily

02:34be the sunniest of highs. So with that, there will also be quite a bit of cloud. We could

02:39also see a touch of frost and some fog patches developing overnight. Now whatever you're
