00:00Good morning. Plenty of showers around today and some of them will be heavy,

00:04some of them will be thundery and there will be some hail mixed in with them as

00:08well. The system that brought yesterday's heavy persistent rain is now clearing

00:13away towards the east but we're still well and truly under the influence of it

00:16and it's this that's bringing a showery regime across the bulk of the country. So

00:21yes, some bright or sunny spells but also plenty of showers and pretty much

00:25anywhere you could catch a shower and they could be heavy, possibly even

00:29thundery but across central eastern Scotland here we have the greatest

00:33chance of some torrential downpours which is why we do have a warning out as

00:37there could be some disruption. Not only due to the rain which could be pretty

00:41heavy but also because of the hail, the frequent lightning and some gusty winds.

00:45Also some hefty downpours quite likely across parts of northeast England and

00:49like I said anywhere could see some torrential downpours but I think towards

00:53the south-southwest you have a greater chance of staying largely dry. And there

00:57will be some sunny spells mixed in in between those showers in which it's

01:01going to feel pleasantly warm enough. Temperatures generally peaking in the

01:04mid to high teens just about scraping into the low 20s 2021 Celsius perhaps

01:08towards the southeast. Some of the showers are going to continue as we go

01:13through this evening. Many will actually ease overnight but there is likely to be

01:18a swathe of showery rain pushing its way southwards through the early hours of

01:21tomorrow across parts of Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and then later

01:24into parts of northern England as we head towards dawn. Also a few showery

01:29outbreaks elsewhere but also some clear skies perhaps a bit more clear skies

01:33around tonight than there was last night especially across southern areas. So a

01:37greater chance of a little bit of mist and fog perhaps first thing tomorrow

01:41morning but for most temperatures again not dropping a huge amount generally

01:45staying in double figures. So a fairly mild start to the day tomorrow. So the

01:50area of showery rain that looks pretty intense across northern England is going

01:54to push its way southwards as we go through tomorrow could cause some

01:57impacts and then even elsewhere plenty of showers developing yet again. The

02:01focus for the showers will change slightly compared to today. So across

02:05central eastern Scotland not as many showers as today. They're not looking as

02:10frequent as intense as they are looking today and further west perhaps a greater

02:15chance of seeing some showers and even elsewhere across other parts of England

02:18Wales and possibly Northern Ireland perhaps a greater chance of seeing some

02:22heavy thundery downpours and again these could cause some disruptions. So do

02:26take care of whatever your plans are. Temperatures look like they'll be down a

02:29degree or so compared to today because we have a bit more of a northerly wind.

02:34So I think whilst most places will be mid to high 18 Celsius 20 Celsius is

02:39looking fairly unlikely. So not quite as warm in any bright or sunny spells in

02:43between those showers. As we head towards the end of the week and the weekend we

02:47are going to see high pressure building from the west and that's going to turn

02:50our weather a bit drier a bit more settled. Not completely dry one or two

02:54showers are still possible but it is going to be drier than through much of

02:58this week. With that as well there should be a decent amount of sunshine and so

03:01it's likely to feel quite a bit warmer as well. If you have an interest in what's
