00:00Hello there, good morning.
00:02Now this week is technically the first week of meteorological summer, but for many it's
00:06not really felt like it.
00:07We've seen plenty of rain, plenty of showers, and this morning is no exception.
00:12It's set to be quite a wet start, particularly across parts of Lancashire, Cheshire, elsewhere
00:16across England and Wales, as we see this band of rain slowly shift its way eastwards, this
00:20turning quite heavy and blustery at times.
00:23Now differently to yesterday, that rain will clear fairly quickly, but still once again
00:27there's going to be plenty of showers following on behind, particularly across Scotland, Northern
00:31Ireland and northern parts of England.
00:34Some brighter, sunny spells in between, but it's likely we'll see the best of the brightness
00:38across central and southern England.
00:40Fewer showers here, more in the way of sunshine, and lighter winds, temperatures a degree or
00:45two up from yesterday, so feeling warm and pleasant in any sunshine, but still that fresher
00:50feel across the far north.
00:54After the evening, showers will ease away for a time, but we'll see a return of the rain,
00:58more clouds, some spells of quite heavy rain at times drifting in as we head our way towards
01:03dawn.
01:04So once again a very wet start across Northern Ireland, northern parts of England and Wales
01:08too, turning quite heavy and blustery, particularly across the far south where there's a chance
01:13of gales as we head into Saturday.
01:16Drier across the far north east of Scotland, so temperatures dipping away a bit more here, but
01:21elsewhere a fairly mild start to the day.
01:24But the start of the weekend is going to be unsettled.
01:28Heavy downpours at times, and one we need to keep an eye on, there is a chance of some
01:31quite thundery heavy downpours too, particularly as we head our way into the afternoon across
01:36the south.
01:37Keep an eye on our social media channels and across our website just in case we see any
01:41warnings issued for those.
01:42But nevertheless, it is set to be unsettled.
01:45Spells of rain, some heavy showers, and temperatures a degree or two down, particularly across central
01:50and southern parts, but any sunny spells obviously being offset by the frequent showers.
01:56Now for the rest of the weekend, yes, we'll eventually say goodbye to any showers as low
02:00pressure drifts its way once again back into the North Sea.
02:04Sunday is set to be the better day of the weekend, more dry weather, more sunny spells.
02:09But notice behind me areas of low pressure waiting in the wings, being picked up by almost
02:15a conveyor belt of the jet stream waiting to push in as we head into next week.
02:19But of course, for more information on that, don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel.
02:23Bye-bye.
