00:00Hello there, welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:05It's going to feel fresher tomorrow, you'll notice the difference particularly along the
00:09east coast as the wind comes in from the north's cold front introducing more cloud for a time
00:15brighter skies towards the west.
00:16Friday not a bad day, a pleasant one to be out and about and then all change through
00:21Friday night and into the weekend as weather fronts move in from the Atlantic bringing
00:25cloud rain and stronger winds, in fact this deeper area of low pressure extends across
00:30the country on Sunday so we'll see some quite strong and gusty winds through the latter part
00:35of the weekend.
00:36For the time being any showers towards the south will fade away, notice this area of cloud
00:42and a little bit of rain associated with it, that's the cold front sinking down towards
00:46England and Wales through the early hours of tomorrow morning.
00:49In its wake the air is colder, the winds are stronger particularly across the eastern side
00:54so feeling fresh if you are stepping out first thing tomorrow morning and across the glens
00:59of Scotland there's a chance for a touch of frost.
01:02Further south you could even see one or two mist and fog patches as we enter Thursday morning
01:06and this cloud here, quite stubborn first thing and again a little bit of rain can't be ruled
01:12out extending from England and Wales towards Northern Ireland.
01:16For Scotland it's a fine start to the day with some sunshine, a few residual showers coming
01:21down this eastern side with that stronger wind, there will be fairly fleeting and light.
01:26Inland it will remain dry.
01:29So let's pick up on that cloud first thing tomorrow morning.
01:32As you can see it's drifting southwards, any mist and murk will lift into low cloud and you'll
01:37see some sunshine being revealed towards the north as that cloud continues its passage southwards.
01:44Elsewhere it's a fine day, sunny spells, cool along this east coast that's where the lowest
01:49temperatures will be and feeling fresher than the last few days coming in probably around
01:55the low to mid teens and even further west we'll only see 16 or 17 towards the west country
02:02south Wales 19 to 21 degrees Celsius.
02:06So through Thursday evening and overnight that cloud continues to fade away, most places will
02:11be dry, the showers will be offshore apart from probably Shetland and maybe Orkney and again
02:18a bit of chill in the air as we head into Friday morning.
02:22Friday dawns bright and dry with some sunshine, however notice there will be more clouds just
02:27moving in across Northern Ireland through the afternoon heralding a change in our weather.
02:32Before that though temperatures climbing quite nicely to 1821 degrees Celsius.
02:37So as we head through Friday night as that rain moves in it's a warm front, outbreaks
02:41of rain extending across the country, heaviest pulses for a time towards the north.
02:45And then some showers to follow on Saturday.
02:48Come Sunday this deeper air flow pressure will bring with it rain then showers and some gusty
02:53winds, strong winds particularly towards the north, some sunshine and showers further south.
02:57See you later.
02:58See you later.
