00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Through

00:04Wednesday evening it turns wet across Scotland, rain edging into Northern

00:08Ireland, so a wet and relatively breezy day tomorrow. Two weather fronts, this one

00:13is actually pushing its way southwards into Thursday morning and stalling. Hot

00:17on its heels is another one, much more active, bringing stronger winds through

00:21Thursday into Friday and some heavier pulses of rain which will eventually

00:24clear down towards the southeast. The air then turns colder and it remains windy

00:29across the far north, although high pressure building through the latter

00:32part of Friday towards the south. For the time being then, it's clear across much

00:37of England and Wales. You could see some low cloud, even some fog patches with a

00:40light breeze. Here's that rain moving in, heavy across the upslopes towards the

00:45northwest, sinking down towards the central belt through the early hours of

00:47the morning and nudging in to Northern Ireland. Ahead of it there'll be a fair

00:51amount of cloud, low cloud at that, so poor visibility over the higher routes

00:55and watch out for some fog patches as we start the day further south. But for

00:59some, it'll be bright with some sunshine as that cloud and fog lifts. A bit

01:03drizzly across the far north of England and for Northern Ireland, thicker cloud

01:07always bringing some rain, particularly towards the west. The rain could turn a

01:11quite heavy north of the central belt around lunchtime tomorrow as the rain

01:16sinks down towards the bulk of Northern Ireland as well as Scotland. Some heavier

01:20pulses on it as well and the winds will be a feature of the weather. Breezy

01:24across Wales as well as Northern England and the West Country, but further south

01:27we'll see temperatures in shelter and sunshine coming in around 17 degrees

01:31Celsius. Now through Thursday evening, this weather front has some momentum on

01:35it, is pushing southwards, so expect some rain into Friday morning across England

01:40and Wales as it sinks down towards the southeast. In its wake, blustery showers

01:44into Friday. These showers could be heavy with the risk of thunder as well as hail,

01:49wintry over the higher ground and a few showers likely across England and Wales

01:53as the rain lingers on across eastern counties through the afternoon. So here's

01:57your outlook through Friday in terms of temperature. Temperatures much lower than

02:01what we're expecting through the next 24 hours, certainly cold towards the

02:05northwest with that wind. Into Saturday, some fine weather across England and

02:09Wales, but more rain arrives across Western Scotland as well as Northern
