00:00So I'm here at the Ufgun Battery with Manager Diane Steen. Diane, can you tell us a bit about the work that's going on here?
00:17It's got a lot of work going on here. A lot of work to repair cracks in the concrete, bits of steam dropping off and water's getting in and making the concrete very unstable here.
00:28So we're doing a lot of work on that. A lot of work on the metal work, which is constantly rusting and it's a constant battle to keep that in a reasonable condition.
00:38We're doing work on ventilation, drainage and replacing all of our perimeter fences as well. So quite a lot of work.
00:45And we've also recorded the barrack room behind us in the long term, because it will mean that the buildings will survive and visitors will still be able to come and enjoy walking around
00:56and being able to access all of the site. If things had continued as they were, we wouldn't have to start closing off parts of the site because it was becoming very unstable.
01:06And are you still open to the public?
01:08We are still open to the public. We've got two exhibition spaces. Obviously you can't walk around most of the site that's closed because of all the building works.
01:17But we do have two exhibition spaces and we do have our volunteers on hand to come and tell you all about Bombardland.
01:23So please do still come and pop your team rooms as well.
