00:00Newcastle United are looking at other striker options in the transfer window after walking away from a deal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Eketike. It's been a mad 24-48 hours at Newcastle United. A lot of noise coming out around Alexander Isaac.
00:19Hugo Eketike himself of course. Liverpool made an approach for Alexander Isaac. It was met with a firm not for sale from Newcastle United. In response to that Liverpool then joined the race for Hugo Eketike where Newcastle at one stage were leading negotiations. Earlier this week had a £69 million bid. Rejected. Weighed up a second and improved offer but by that point Liverpool entered the race.
00:48Newcastle have stepped aside and now at Frankfurt are negotiating a fee with Liverpool and the player as widely reported has already agreed to go to Liverpool. He wants to go to Liverpool.
01:01So the positive in this is that Newcastle will be keeping hold of Alexander Isaac. Liverpool no longer at the table. I say Newcastle's stance was pretty strong anyway. He wasn't for sale. That was the message from high up in the football club.
01:15Obviously we only spoke to Darren Eales in March and he was adamant it would be crazy for Newcastle United to sell their best players like Alexander Isaac.
01:24And the Liverpool approach sort of proves that Newcastle United have stuck to their stance and yeah he will be staying at St. James' part which is huge ahead of a big campaign.
01:33Having Alexander Isaac and Hugo Eketike would have been a big flex from Newcastle United to have those two players but openly if it was a decision between picking between the two you'd pick Alexander Isaac every day of the week and yeah Hugo Eketike as it looks like will be heading to Liverpool this summer.
01:51Now Newcastle United are still in the market for A-Striker following Callum Wilson's departure confirmed last week now.
02:00They don't just want a player to play back up to Alexander Isaac.
02:05They want someone who can challenge them, who can rotate with them when they've got so many games next season to be able to rotate the pair.
02:11Alexander Isaac and whoever else they will hope to bring in as massive in terms of keeping the fitness levels and yeah just keeping the squad fresh.
02:21As we've seen last time in the Champions League when they had a major drop off because they didn't have the squad to compete.
02:26So Eddie Howe doesn't want that this time round. He wants his attacking options to be strong no matter what team he puts out and that's why he's really keen to bring in another Stryker to come in alongside Alexander Isaac.
02:36And the latest name that's being mentioned now is Ioann Visser at Brentford.
02:43Had a really good season last year.
02:4520 goals it was in all competitions. 19 in the Premier League. Not a single one of those I think.
02:50was penalty. So I think he was vastly underrated last season.
02:53Of course Brian Mbwemo who will come out to grab all the headlines for his goals.
02:58But yeah Ioann Visser has a tracking interest from Newcastle now.
03:01He's had interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
03:03Of course Thomas Frank making the switch from Brentford to Tottenham and Keane to reunite with him.
03:09Nottingham Forest long-term admirers.
03:11They had a £25 million bid rejected in January.
03:13Reports suggest that they've had another bid rejected this summer.
03:17So Visser has plenty of admirers but Newcastle are exploring a deal.
03:22So we'll have to see how that develops in the next 24 hours.
03:26But one thing that could impact the Ioann Visser deal which is breaking news in the last 10 minutes of recording this video
03:32was that Manchester United have put in a third bid for Brian Mbwemo.
03:36Of course Brian Mbwemo was a target for Newcastle in the early stages of the transfer window.
03:41But the player himself made it pretty clear that he preferred a move to Manchester United.
03:46Newcastle move on.
03:47Signed Anthony Alanga for £55 million from Nottingham Forest.
03:51So Manchester United have been working on a deal too.
03:54Signed Brian Mbwemo had two bids rejected prior to this one.
03:57The third bid £65 million according to Athletic plus £5 million.
04:03In add-ons there's been a rumoured price tag that Brian Mbwemo is valued at £70 million.
04:08So that figure does meet Brentfad's rumoured valuation.
04:13And it's a lot of reports saying that Brentfad will not lose both players.
04:17Don't plan to lose both players this summer.
04:19So if Brian Mbwemo does go to Manchester United and that bid is accepted.
04:23It does maybe cast doubt over Johan Visser potentially being able to leave Brentfad this summer.
04:31Both players scored 20 goals that season.
04:33So to lose 40 goals in your forward line as well.
04:36Lose your manager and captain Christian Norgoth went to Arsenal.
04:39That's a big summer of change for Brentfad.
04:42And the word is that they only plan to lose one of those players.
04:45So if that bid is indeed accepted, the Manchester United bid is accepted by Brentfad, then where does that leave?
04:52Johan Visser will have to wait and see.
04:55But of course things always developing in this transfer window.
04:58The only certainty at this moment in time is Sean Longstaff's departure.
05:03He is due for a medical at Leeds United today.
05:06Fee agreed, £12 million plus £3 million in add-ons.
05:11A good deal for Newcastle.
05:12Pure profit in terms of PSR because he's an academy graduate.
05:15A good move for the player as well.
05:19Needed a fresh start after dropping down the pecking order last season.
05:23How will Newcastle United reinvest that money?
05:25Again, six weeks of the transfer window remaining.
05:29Less time until the season starts at Aston Villa opener on Saturday, August 16.
05:33But still a little way to go in the transfer moment.
05:36It's going to be interesting to see how Newcastle United attack this one, as I say, in those final six weeks.
