Kit Out Hartlepool aims to save families money so kids can play sport this summer
Transcript
00:00So guys, can you tell us how the project works?
00:04Yeah, so we're asking for people to donate used sports kit so we can recycle and pass on to
00:10children and young people this summer to take part in physical activities and sport.
00:13There's a lot of children accessing sports clubs and sports clubs are coming back and saying they're
00:17not in the appropriate kit needed and obviously due to the cost the sports kit can be quite high
00:22and what we want to do is remove those barriers to physical activity so that sports can access
00:27clubs without the high cost that comes associated with it.
00:31And how successful has it been so far?
00:34Yeah, I mean you can see we've had lots and lots of donations so far which is absolutely brilliant.
00:39We're going to extend the collection period for another week because we want to keep
00:42momentum and keep the donations coming in so for the next week we're asking for if anyone has got
00:49any children's sports where in the cupboards, clear them out, put them in the donation boxes
00:54and we'll be distributing these over the six weeks holidays.
00:59Before we leave, begin by.
