Cardiff is an amazing city to look around and explore, and what better way to see our sights than from an open top bus. Cardiff bus is launching their new SkyCar route between the city centre and Cardiff Bay, and they’ve given us an exclusive look at the route.

00:00Cardiff is an incredible city with beautiful things to see, iconic landmarks and so much
00:08beautiful scenery. I know that, you know that, people visiting the city for the first time
00:12will need to learn that. Cardiff bus want to help tourists do that. They're putting on the Skycar
00:17which will be running all through the summer, got an open top bus and they've given me an
00:21exclusive look before it opens. We've had a couple of runs around just to make sure it's all okay,
00:26so we've been tree cutting, we've got the bus cleaned, there's still a little bit more to do
00:31because this bus only comes out for a summer so it's gonna get a nice little tidy up in it already
00:35for our wonderful paying customers and yeah from Saturday it's gonna be linking customers every
00:40hour from the city centre down into the bay, seeing all the sights of Cardiff and enjoying
00:44this wonderful summer. So this is up on top of the Skycar, we've got our own little personal
00:50private tour around Cardiff. What more could you want in weather like this? We've already
00:54gone past the castle, gone through the town centre, it's just one of those things you're
00:58able to see all around the town, such an easy way on the bus. No absolutely, it is, it is the ideal
01:04place to be, you get the little breeze to cool you down, the wind in your head but it is a wonderful
01:09elevated view, you're at the level of sort of the first level of buildings so you can pick out
01:14little sort of architectural features, gorgeous shots down through the bay so if you like a bit of
01:20photography you can get some wonderful images there and it is just yeah in the sun it is absolutely
01:25beautiful and I cannot think of a better service to go out for a ride on. Even though it is a really
01:31warm day it's definitely a bit blowy up here so you probably dress accordingly, I'm not too cold but
01:36I'm definitely very windy, sunglasses are necessary right now because the sun's right in my face but
01:42this is absolutely such an easy way to see Cardiff, it's an easy way to get to know everywhere around where you
01:49are this would be perfect for tourists or locals around the city having the day out and the kind
01:55of benefit is that it goes from the centre of Cardiff down to the bay, two of the most visited
02:00places in Cardiff and it's an easy way to get back and forth. So now I'm here in Cardiff Bay which is
02:06the other end of the route from where it starts by the museum, Dan says that this is a perfect
02:11opportunity to kind of get between both places, so easy for tourists to come and then you're here in
02:16one of the most beautiful parts of the city in Cardiff Bay. I think whether you're a tourist
02:20visiting the city or whether you already live here, this to me is the way to see it. You have the
02:25gorgeous sights across the background there, all the incredible architecture, the iconic place of
02:29the Millennium Centre but it connects into so many wonderful places as well, if you're family you've got
02:33the Techniquest, if you're wanting a drinkery, there's incredible places in Mermaid Key, you've got the
02:37culture around of a Norwegian church, you've just got so much going on in the bay and this bus connects you
02:42straight back as well as giving you a wonderful open top, wind in your hair, sunny face kind of
02:47right to get there. And then back in the city connects you to so many other places as well
02:50but let's face it, in this weather the bay is a place to be, who doesn't love to be there in the sun
02:55and this for me is the perfect way to get there.
