But I would definitely say Wales has got, in my opinion, better beaches than England.
00:06
I think we top it.
00:07
Well, what a magnificent day here in the centre of Cardiff.
00:10
Of course, when the sun comes up, the people come out,
00:13
and you can see behind me that people are taking in every single minute of sunshine that we've got.
00:17
When we've got this beautiful weather, it's hard not to think about the summer ahead of us
00:21
and things that we're going to do when July and August come along.
00:24
So I'm heading to the centre of town to ask people for their recommendations
00:27
of places to visit and holiday all across Wales.
00:31
We've got some of the best beaches anywhere in the UK,
00:34
some of the best mountain-walking hotspots, attractions,
00:37
and even our cities are an amazing place to come and see, especially in the sun.
00:40
So where do people in Cardiff recommend for a perfect Welsh holiday?
00:44
Well, I'm from Pembrokeshire, so I would obviously rate Pembrokeshire 10 out of 10.
00:48
Recommend to anyone.
00:50
Lovely beaches.
00:52
I don't know Wales that well.
00:54
I'm from near Birmingham way.
00:55
But, yeah, I've been to Pembrokeshire and that was really nice.
00:58
Yeah, we've got some nice places to go down there.
01:00
It's busy in the city.
01:01
Yeah, Bowery's lovely.
01:03
Where else?
01:04
We've been to Cardiff Bay a lot.
01:06
Yeah, the bay's lovely.
01:08
Yeah, I know a few people from Tembe who quite enjoy it there.
01:11
So, yeah, I like to go and visit them one day.
01:14
Tembe's quite nice.
01:15
I like Tembe.
01:16
The beach is really nice and colourful.
01:19
Yeah, Tembe is pretty lovely, to be fair.
01:22
I actually recommend Bowery Island.
01:25
It's a good place.
01:26
You can go to the beach, have fun with your friends.
01:28
And there's gaming places you could play and you could have fun with them.
01:32
Yeah.
01:33
Yeah, I mean, like, when people think of Wales, it's either the beaches or the castles.
01:38
It's more than just beaches.
01:39
We've got incredible mountains and countryside all across Wales, which people say is one of
01:44
the biggest draws for people visiting our beautiful country.
01:46
Outside of beaches, yeah, castles, a lot of the mountain areas are nice.
01:51
If you do like hiking, climbing, there's a lot of nice places to go.
01:55
I can't get any off the top of my head.
01:57
But I know there's a lot of nice places to go.
01:59
So, I would definitely recommend, if you like to go for hiking stuff, Pembrokeshire, I think
02:06
that is definitely a really nice place to go for hiking.
02:08
I did that once with my family.
02:09
And it's just something to go out and, I guess, if you like the nature, then I would
02:13
definitely say maybe more towards the north.
02:16
I feel like it's not explored enough in Wales, especially.
02:18
Everyone likes the south.
02:19
Have this, yeah.
02:20
Actually, you could go to Swansea.
02:22
There's one of the best beaches.
02:24
You could go and have fun there, swim, play, you could like meet people, have fun with
02:31
them.
02:32
Everybody here is actually friendly.
02:34
So, that's a good point for them.
02:36
Yeah, no, absolutely.
02:37
I think there is, well, a lot of my like flatmates and coursemates are from different places in
02:41
Wales and it's all quite different, different scenes and stuff, which is quite nice.
02:47
Yeah.
02:48
They want actually to come back here because like it's a good place and we could have fun here.
02:52
Yeah, everybody is friendly and I like quiet and the person is leaner.
02:56
That's a good point for them.
02:58
Yeah.
