Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about a man who was assaulted with a Hot Pocket in Boston. Then, they relive the Hot Pockets nightmare that Dave experienced years ago, when they stole his jingle idea and never compensated him.

00:42police in the boston area are looking for a guy who went to a corner market grabbed a hot pocket

00:50from the fridge and hurled it at the clerk behind the counter the guy apparently got upset because

00:56the clerk asked to see his id before selling him smokes okay another cut customer witnessed the

01:03hot pocket assault and told the assailant to chill out dude but then they started fighting

01:08and the hot pocket guy pulled out a knife a pocket knife he loves anything pocket yeah

01:14threatened the customer with it yeah they were able to get the bad guy out of the market lock

01:23the doors and call the cops no one was injured by the hot pocket or the pocket knife as far as we

01:29know the guy is still on the run though i mean i'd rather check the pocket book that he dropped

01:34i don't know i feel like they really failed and fell off but they don't see anything any no hot

01:43pockets did kind of i think lose some popularity i think they did yeah i don't think they're good

01:49they're not marketing like they were maybe it's they probably have trouble living with themselves

01:57i sang a new jingle on the air they completely stole it took my idea and offered me some hot

02:02pockets for giveaways as compensation i should have sued their asses i should have i know it's too late

02:19my back on them too i don't like them because of that i got bad vibes yeah i definitely kept eating

04:13like so another user put up like the whole segment from the show you know so like you can relive what

04:20happened oh i had them i had them put down this guy oh yeah i had that person put down did you

04:25have them put down they're just stealing our content

07:41them saying well you took the hot pockets it's payoff yeah exactly she said no i want money i love the idea of a huge

07:48a huge court case that involves hot pockets foreigner i love it it would make the news

07:54it would make the news that's the craziest 10 years ago radio host had his idea stolen

08:00like honestly they are sweating it i bet still if there's no time limit on there's no time limit they

08:05know what they did they were like and the problem is there was probably like uh uh someone involved

08:12who somehow listened to our show and they ran it up the chain but the the higher-ups didn't realize

08:19where that guy got the idea so they're like oh my god it's great he was the one who did it so they

08:25would try and send him down the road they probably fired him already al's gonna for there's so many

08:30people that were not a part of the show when this happened and and al's gonna play a little recap here

08:34so go ahead al yeah all right previously on dave and chuck the freak i did my own version of the hot

08:41pockets jingle hot pockets actually got back to us they thought it was a great idea and basically

08:47said let us know if you get the rights to the song foreigners publicist got word and they want

08:54to get in touch with hot pockets to try and make it happen no way yeah yes lisa if this this is going

09:00to be a huge hit for hot pockets maybe they bring me on stage and do it live you just get the tour with

09:05them and i'll sing it live with them hot pockets check it and see every minute a year's

09:10worth of hot pocket starts to look better and better so that was my excitement right yeah when

09:16they acknowledged my idea and then foreigners people commented on the tweet and we're like we

09:22we're in we think it's great yeah foreigners like we did money yeah yeah they did but okay so here's

09:27the other question then was it foreigner that really bent you over and plowed you no it's because

09:35hot pockets is the one that but like they have to pay no but if foreigner called hot pockets

09:41and they were like hey listen here's an idea you use our song to sell hot pockets just check this

09:49out and then and then they were like whoa that's great yeah we've got this was so big at the time for

10:06a little salt in the wound when he found out it went international oh yeah yeah so let's hear the

10:11follow-up of where i was devastated then i guess previously on dave and chuck the freak i for years

10:18have thought that the folks at hot pockets should take foreigners hot-blooded and turn it into a brand

10:23new ad campaign i did make contact with the hot pockets people one of three scenarios played out

10:29they're stealing my idea for a jingle they're using my idea for their new ad campaign or they're using

10:37my idea i'm not getting paid but i will be appearing in their commercials with foreigner which one do you

10:43think it is i think it's uh number two that you will get paid well ladies and gentlemen they are

10:49stealing my idea oh you were you're like you're gonna get paid your dreams are gonna come true

11:09because that's life money money money yeah it's gonna work out you found the only song in all of

11:15songs that hot pockets can use i know i know and then they oh god it just irks me that it was so

11:21terrible the end product right because i think they realized they had to change it so much they thought

11:26to try and avoid any yeah they couldn't use all my lyrics no but that's i oh man well this final clip

11:39dave and chuck the freeze i came up with the idea for a jingle where they take the words from hot

11:45blooded and replace it with hot pockets didn't think wow they'll actually take my idea like is this

11:50really worth me getting all enraged about and investing my time i'm gonna let it go but now i've

11:55changed my mind what and i want to go after them one of our listeners in mexico messaged me this

12:01effing commercial is airing in mexico i want nancy grace to interview dave to see that on tv do you

12:29day that was when nancy grace was relevant yeah well it was ten years ago how long ago it was

13:43me through the whole process it would have been so much better yeah i had a whole campaign crafted

13:49yeah i mean think about it like really if i was if i started a company and i was like i

13:57think we're gonna go jingle i think we're gonna go jingle i would 100 contact dave and be like

14:04listen man i need a catchy jingle the only thing that i would be worried about is that it would be

14:08another company's jingle yeah but he stole that you stole in your mind and then just put it out

14:15there that'd be my only fear i just want to like sit one weekend with an excel spreadsheet and figure

14:22out what other songs can do this exact same thing and then hopefully i can take down nestle or something

14:27oh man take down nestle yeah this was dave's chance this really was dave's chance turned into my hot

14:33pocket nightmare he thought radio might work no it didn't dave's boat needs to be the ss ham and cheese

14:42this was the number one way pockets boat money to become wealthy i blew it
