00:00Here at CD Bank Ballpark, Steven Cusimano joined alongside Yankees infielder Oswald Peraza,
00:04as well as the video assistant for the Somerset Patriots, Carlos Cespedes.
00:08Thank you for translating for us today, Carlos.
00:10And first and foremost, Oswald, it's your fifth game of rehab, third here with Somerset Patriots.
00:15First and foremost, how do you feel?
00:18Me siento bien.
00:37I feel great. Thank God. I'm glad that I'm back playing again.
00:43I'm happy to be back to Somerset. I have a great experience when I was here.
00:47I had a lot of great teammates and a lot of fans. It's great to be back here in Somerset.
00:52And Oswald, you had the first game of spring training underway.
00:55Then you came away with the shoulder tightness and then played a couple more games after that.
00:59When did you first notice that something was up?
01:23I felt something in that game. After that, it's been a great recovery.
01:29And I'm just glad to be back. Like I said, I'm glad to be here with the team and started playing back again.
01:38Now it's the fifth overall game of rehab and you've homered in two of the first four.
01:42Obviously that indicates you're seeing the ball pretty well.
01:45But what is the plan going forward as far as, you know, we've seen you at shortstop.
01:48We've seen you at DH. What's the plan from this point as far as you know?
02:28I'm trying to take every at-bat the best. I'm trying to work on my approach and also just be there, be there ready for wherever they need me.
02:39Also in the defense, just take every advantage, every opportunity that I can and work the best I can.
02:44How many innings are you supposed to play today?
02:47Seven.
02:48And also, just on a different level, when you see the team, the Yankees, having the success they've had this year,
02:55how much does that motivate you just to get back up there and start contributing to some of that success?
03:33I'm really, really, really excited for everything they're doing up there.
03:35I try to watch every game that I can.
03:38I'm really excited I'll be back with them, with the team, and I'm trying to help them the best way I can.
03:43And lastly, you mentioned at the very beginning,
03:45you had a great time when you played here in Somerset, 2021.
03:48What were some of your favorite memories coming up through that time?
03:51And just what sticks out to you a few years removed from being here in AA with the Somerset Patriots?
03:55The truth is, for me, you know, every day I was here were good memories, because I was with very good friends, with Mosquera, the manager, the coach.
04:08The truth is, for me, those years were inolvidable, because it was during my growth.
04:15It brings out a lot of good memories, a lot of good memories back when, uh, when he was, like, playing here, coming up.
04:18He said that he mentioned that he had really good teammates,
04:48he was a good manager for him.
04:50Uh, also, like, just, like, being back here, uh, as, as rehab, also, like, remember that he went through all this, uh, process.
04:59He mentioned it to his wife, how he's, like, I'm, I'm having good, uh, feelings and being just back in Somerset.
05:07All right, Oswald and Carlos, thank you both so much, and best of luck with the rehab.
05:10Thank you, thank you.
