00:32guess uh this 31 year old detroit woman used an uber to order a ride to downtown detroit this was
00:39about 4 45 in the afternoon the other day and then jumped out of the uber in the left lane of the
00:49highway of eastbound i-96 right near i-94 how are you alive what kind of drugs was she on
00:55i don't know they say you guys marijuana yeah well i've smoked marijuana i've never wanted to
01:00jump out of a car nope that's crazy she's gonna handle it that reefer madness that's been going
01:06around yeah well some people can't handle it i guess i guess so yeah that driver must have been
01:11like what are you doing oh my god you know what so listen you know what happened she came across
01:15they were heading you know to the uh different part of the freeway where you can exit to go to
01:21another freeway and she saw a sign for port huron and thought the driver was taking her there
01:28so she jumped out of the moving uber on the highway okay so she told police she was high
01:38on marijuana at the time boy so can't you just call someone text someone you should or like check
01:46your phone like make sure like the directions that you're going but it's just the direction of where
01:51you can go it doesn't mean you're being taken there right i know people are there is something
01:56to being on high alert though like i do get that paranoid when you're smoking yeah i think i've had
02:01it too i guess i just never been in an uber right when that thankfully you know but she was taken to
02:06the hospital her identity not being released the uber driver reportedly called police as this was
02:12happening he said the woman jumped out of his car saying oh hell no how fast were they going
02:19maybe it was me yeah sounds like something i would say that's the last thing she said
02:26maybe i guess this could be me yeah it's starting to make sense now it is all coming together oh well
02:40uh authorities determined there was no evidence at all of an attempted kidnapping and they closed the
02:46case traffic was disrupted for a while but then the freeway lanes were reopened it's a crazy situation
02:53i mean i just the fear that i'd have to have through my body to jump out of a moving car i can't
03:01well you gotta understand road signs first before you really start getting paranoid you can't take
03:05an uber if you don't understand road signs right right that just means eventually that highway will
03:10take you there right yeah you want to go in that general direction yeah general direction sometimes
03:15miles ahead yeah sometimes it's 50 miles away right you know hundreds of miles away it just lets you
03:22know that is the west and this is the east like one will say port here on the other one will say
03:27chicago that's four hours away oh no chicago yeah no no no there's a million stops before you get to
03:35chicago yep that's funny people in port here on are like we'd jump out too we don't blame it

05:04and it's like 10 000 miles

05:06it's like it's like it's a billion miles away
05:09and i could see this lady being like
05:11he's taking me to tampa
05:12i'm going to tampa

05:20they did it as a joke
05:21it's eventually where that highway will take you
05:23if you keep driving in that direction
05:25but you ordered it to go downtown
05:26and that's where it was taking you
05:28man i bet she feels dumb today

05:38i'm sure she had some scrapes and cuts

06:06i actually had passengers think i was trying to kidnap them too
06:09because i was going in the wrong direction
06:11come to find out they put in the wrong address
06:14and it was the opposite direction of where they were trying to go
06:17so every time we get in an uber and it goes the wrong way
06:21we just assume now kidnapping me
06:22oh yeah
06:23that's scary if you pick up somebody that's armed
06:25and then mistakenly thinks that you're doing that
06:28we live in a dangerous time
06:30risky business that's for sure
