00:34typhoon lagoon and their 214 foot water slide called humonga cowabunga i couldn't resist this

01:01this is the water slide at the center of the lawsuit humonga cowabunga at disney's typhoon lagoon
01:10people plummet down a near vertical five-story drop and they go without a raft or a tube on wednesday
01:18a couple filed a lawsuit against disney saying the wife suffered severe and permanent bodily injury
01:24to her private area after going down the slide in october 2019 the complaint says riders can reach
01:30speeds approaching 40 miles an hour and before they go down the side are told to cross their legs
01:35at the ankles in this woman's case the lawsuit says when she went down the slide near the end her body
01:42lifted up she became airborne and she was slammed downward against the slide which increased the
01:48likelihood of her legs becoming uncrossed the document says that and her impact into the standing water at
01:55the bottom caused a quote painful wedgie and immediate bleeding an ambulance took her to the hospital and
02:01she was eventually taken to another hospital for a specialist the lawsuit says she suffered damage to
02:07her internal organs now she and her husband are suing disney for over fifty thousand dollars accusing the
02:14company of negligence saying disney failed to provide her and other riders with proper protective
02:20clothing and failed to warn them of inherent dangers um i've gone down that slide and i didn't get a
02:27bloody wedgie no but you probably kept your legs crossed well yeah i kept my legs crossed i followed the
02:34rules some people can't cross their legs oh you think she's a big one like her thighs are too thick
02:40i never thought about that think about the speed riding that ride i guess and then the the force of
02:47water at impact oh they're not asking for that much money no they're not for internal organs being

03:30weight limit i don't remember any of these water slides there has to be well usually what takes
03:36care of it is uh i know every time i look at a water slide i'm like i'm not walking up that high
03:41oh there's a lot of stairs to get up there you rode the slide yeah i mean this was it bouncy

03:52that should have that should cause you to launch like unless you hit the water but i mean i feel
03:58like when you do go on it you've almost there's times where you feel like your body's not touching

04:06legs closed like a lot of these really steep water slides like that right yes usually cross your ankles
04:12and put your hands across your chest and cross your ankles i think the thing is so like that's when
04:16you're going down and i think a lot of times when you hit the water your instinct is to uncross uncross
04:23to or to try to stabilize yourself in the slide i've never held my legs together so tight i did not
04:29want a water park enema right well that's i think what sent me all the way to the end

04:38you know uh skipping chuck and i think like a big fat stone here's a question do you think that
04:47they should include that in the warning like if you don't do this this is what could happen
04:54because they don't they obviously don't have that on signs you think well that's why they're suing
