00:00I like Renee. Very sweet. She's a high school teacher. She has her prep period right now.
00:04She's spending it calling us. It's a 7-15 second date update. So Kevin was able to track down her
00:09date who's not getting back to her. So let's just talk to him about it. Let's do it. Dennis,
00:14you there? Yeah, yeah, I'm here. Hey man, thank you for coming on. I think Kevin talked to you
00:19a little bit about what we want to talk to you about, right? Yeah, yeah, but I'm not really
00:25sure why. We just had a question because we know that you and Renee had a nice little date at Finn's
00:32and a little happy hour. I guess you talked about the fact that she is a teacher. You even said that
00:36you really appreciated what she did, which she felt flattered by and felt appreciated by that.
00:41But I guess she's reached out now to hang out with you again and sent you some texts with some times
00:47and some dates to hang out and got nothing from you. She sounds so sweet. She really does sound
00:52sweet. Yeah, you know, I mean, I just don't think it's going to work out. And we just we only went
00:56on one date. You know, it's not like I decided not to talk to her after a long relationship or
01:02anything. We just met for drinks, happy hour, you know, and yeah, I don't think it's going to work
01:07out between us. But why? Yeah, why then? I don't think our lives match up well. Yeah, the bottom line
01:14is, you know, she's a teacher and, you know, she's got like a certain struggles about being a
01:21teacher. I mean, she went on and during our conversation, she just kept talking about like,
01:25you know, the kids and the difficulties and the long hours, you know, how early she has to get up
01:32to start a day and how she doesn't come home until late in the evening sometimes and how she has to
01:37prepare during the weekend for her class. You know, I mean, like, that's not something I want to have
01:42a relationship with. Sounds like our job. Well, to be honest with you, Dennis, it sounds like this
01:47woman is telling you about a work ethic that's very impressive. And obviously, she's doing
01:51something that is very important to people's lives. She's a teacher. I mean, you don't appreciate
01:56a work ethic? Yeah, I mean, to some extent, sure. You know, I mean, work ethic is great and everything,
02:02but you've got no time for a relationship. I mean, where do you fit in, you know, dates? Where do you
02:08fit in? You know, I just like, I look, I work in sales. I was just going to ask you what you do.
02:13So you don't have long days either? Majority of people do. Once in a while, sure. But the
02:19thing about me is I make my own schedule. Yeah. If I want to do something, I can do it. I shuffle
02:26things around. If I got appointments, I can do it. Or I just, you know, schedule it into my life. I mean,
02:31you know, I have freedom. I have flexibility with my life. You know, if I want to go somewhere
02:36on it for a day trip in the middle of the week, I could do that. You know, a teacher can't do that,
02:41you know? And also, I mean, not to say that, you know, I'm too negative about being a teacher,
02:47but they don't get paid very well. Yeah. I mean, we all kind of know that.
02:50That's negative. That's negative and well-known. And they don't make the pay scale for themselves,
02:54obviously. Right. Right. But I feel like, you know, financially I'm in better shape and I just,
03:00like, she and I are not on the same level. All right, man. I have a lot to say, but I'm going to
03:04let Renee come back in on this. Actually, Dennis, we have her on the phone. That's how we got your
03:08number. Yeah. She just heard all that you said. Yeah. Renee. Hi. Yeah. I mean, this is quite a 180
03:16from what you said in person to me. And so I, you were so supportive and you were complimentary
03:23of what I was telling you. We were both talking about our jobs. I don't know. I'm kind of spiraling
03:30about this. Renee, it's not that. It's like, I mean, I respect what you do because I think
03:35the world needs teachers, obviously. I mean, that's an important thing, but I don't necessarily
03:40want to date a teacher. I don't want, you know, let me, let me give you an example. Okay. So
03:46after a date, you text, you texted me about getting back together. Right. And you even
03:52said like, you know, I could get, I, you, you, you suggested some times and days that you
03:56had free, like little windows of opportunity, you know, that's so restricting. I mean, what
04:02am I trying to do? Like book a doctor's appointment, you know, uh, I was giving you my availability.
04:10You told me Tuesday from seven to nine. You told me Thursday from eight to 10.
04:16Dude, I don't understand because the work ethic of a teacher, and I don't know if it's just
04:19because my mom was a high school English teacher, but the fact that she is saying, Hey, you're
04:23important enough that even though I have a busy schedule, I want you to know my times.
04:27Like, I don't understand how you don't appreciate that. All right. Well, let me, let me ask you
04:31this. Uh, do you want to be, do you want to have to wait until Thursday to see this person
04:36you're dating? Or do you want to say, Hey, let's, let's get together today.
04:39Dennis, the majority of people have schedules like that.
04:43You know, and it's a lot of hard work, uh, before that hard work. I mean, you know, what is,
04:49you know, what, what really did teachers get, you know, for all that hard work? I mean,
04:52you know, this is my career path. I chose it. It is definitely not easy, but it's still what
04:59I'm doing. And it sounds like you do not respect that. You sound like the guy that is totally
05:04taking advantage of the place that you work. Oh, I'm just going to take off in the middle
05:08of the day on a weekday and go to the beach or something like that. And you just do whatever
05:13you want. You you're that employee.
05:16That's the life that I wanted for myself. And that's the life that I eventually got for
05:20myself. Like, I know being a teacher is tough. I get it. It's a struggle. I hear it. It's not
05:26like, it's not like it's physically demanding. You know, it's not like you have to, you know,
05:30you're at the end of the day, you're exhausted. You know, it's not like you're out there laying
05:34asphalt in the street.
05:36My job is very demanding. I'm, I'm, I'm done with this. I really don't have to explain yourself
05:40to anybody. Okay. We value you. We value what you do. Please know that, uh, definitely should go
05:45a different direction on this. Dennis, I will just say this, man. I, uh, thank you for coming on.
05:50That's all I can say. And I hope you have a great day. All right. All right. Renee,
05:54thank you for what you do. I hope you have a great start to the second half of the school
05:58year. Please don't let this ruin your day. We appreciate what you do. You're very important.
06:02You're lucky to get away from this guy. All right. Have a good day. Yes. Thank you.
06:06You got it. Thank you. Ah, man, that struck a chord with me. I mean, my mom was a very busy
06:11woman. Big time. I went to work, was grading papers, you know, even on our vacations and whatnot,
06:16but she was doing it because she was passionate about her job. And I mean, I really just want to see what
06:20people have to say about this. Uh, 800-992-1099, 800-992-1099.
