00:00So Mike, congratulations on winning the Highland Week of International Curling for the first time.

00:06How does it feel, I should ask?

00:07It feels brilliant, absolutely brilliant. We never thought we'd get to this point.

00:11Started the week and we just got on a roll.

00:15We would have been happy to go home with a prize, any prize.

00:19We didn't expect to get this far and get to the final today, which is brilliant.

00:24But you're the only Scotsman in the team, the rest are Americans.

00:28How's this come about?

00:29A strange way. Sarah and I started curling together here about five, six years ago.

00:35We'd just built the team and taken over new players.

00:38So this year it was three Americans and myself.

00:42And the final itself, it was quite a one-sided affair. Did you expect it to go the way it did?

00:47No, no. It was a hard game but I didn't expect it to be like that.

00:54I thought it was going to be more back and forth, each end.

00:59We were delighted with how everybody played and the ice was good. It went in our favour.

01:04Do you take part in many curling competitions?

01:06Yes, I try and curl as often as I can. I play in the league here, the Super League.

01:11But this is the biggest achievement of your career so far?

01:14This is the biggest achievement, yes, definitely.

01:17And what does it mean as an Inverness man to win this tournament? Because it's been going on for decades.

01:22Yes, and I used to be on the committee as well.

01:25It means a lot. This is probably one of the premier competitions that's on the go.

01:30You turn up, you meet people from all over the world. It's just brilliant.
