00:01Hi, I'm Fergus Ewing and behind me you can see our Scottish Parliament building.

00:06And it was these words that were used.

00:10This Parliament, adjourned on the 25th day of March in the year 1707, is hereby reconvened.

00:21Those were the words that my mother Winnie Ewing used when she wrote a new chapter in

00:27Scotland's political story.

00:3026 years later, during which I've served as the MSP for Inverness and Nairn, it is time

00:38for that new chapter.

00:41I've seen the best and I've seen the worst of our Parliament.

00:45And sadly, the last four years have been the worst.

00:50So it's time to get back to the best, what our Parliament should be.

00:56And what people expect it to be.

00:58And that's why I'm putting myself forward as an independent voice to stand as the constituency

01:06MSP for Inverness and Nairn at next year's Holyrood election.
