00:00Hello from the sunny Netherlands. Yep, I am that cliched to find the windmill.
00:07But I didn't have to find it, they're just round about. It's not a cliche if it's true.
00:11I'm here with Hibs on their pre-season where they're still building towards the new campaign.
00:19I had a really interesting chat with David Gray this morning out at the team hotel as the players
00:26were given a bit of a break, allowed to cycle off more cliches into the village to get themselves
00:32some fancy coffees. Interesting chat about transfers, especially Nectar Triantis.
00:43No big shocks coming. But there was a bit of interesting chat about how long do you wait
00:49for the right guy. Everyone knows he's the right guy, he's the one they want.
00:52But do you sit hanging around, hanging around, hanging around and only get disappointed at the end?
00:57Do you wait and wait, not get him, get him, get him too late? You maybe pass on some other guys.
01:03So it's going to be an interesting few weeks I would think.
01:07You know, Sunderland have just spent over 50 million quid on a pair of midfielders which
01:11says an awful lot about what they can do and the kind of end of the market they're shopping in. So
01:17as much as we all appreciate what Nectar Triantis does, if you're a Premier League club and you're
01:23looking at a guy who hasn't played much even in the English Championship, he's done well in Scotland,
01:27do you take that chance? Look at how many players move directly from Scottish Premiership to the
01:32Premier League. It isn't that many. So it's going to be an interesting few weeks ahead on that front.
01:39Just really good to sit down and get Gray's thoughts on, you know, getting Rocky Bashiri back,
01:44Junior Hoylet, a few other things. It's always nice just to sit and chat to some of the players,
01:49get a feel for what's going on. Things feel pretty good, although they felt pretty good last pre-season
01:57and then they went crashing into a pretty terrible start to the season. So they've learned from that,
02:03you know, Gray's now in his second year as a manager. They're working hard,
02:08they've got to play Ajax this weekend and then they're back, the Essen game next week.
02:17It's going to be an interesting few weeks and keep watching the space for the transfers and keep
02:22watching the windmills because that was definitely going earlier.
