Transcript
00:00well that could have been worse
00:03maybe not in a football sense
00:05Michelin are
00:08clearly the toughest team that Hibs could have drawn
00:11in today's Europa League
00:14second qualifying round draw
00:17European veterans who've played in the Champions League
00:21against Liverpool, Ajax, Atalanta
00:24missed out on the Danish league title by a point last season
00:28and they are renowned as being kind of
00:34at the forefront of the data revolution
00:36that swept football that Hibs are now hoping to take
00:38full advantage of with Garvin Stewart in the building at East Mainz
00:42so yeah they are a tough footballing prospect
00:45in terms of practicalities
00:48Hibs have won a watch not having to go to
00:51Tirispol in the
00:53semi-autonomous self-declared independent region of Transnistria
00:58right on the border of Ukraine
01:00where the latest foreign office advice is
01:04don't go there
01:05it's as simple as that
01:06in black and white
01:07on the foreign office help pages
01:09it could have been better
01:11you could have got a
01:12you know
01:13a more easy team
01:15you maybe hope for one of the
01:16the unseeded teams in the first round
01:18to come through and knock somebody out
01:19but Denmark easy to get to for fans
01:22you know the cheapest place
01:24it's not bowling club prices
01:26for the pints of beer over there
01:29or the litres of Carlsberg or whatever it is
01:32but yeah a tough draw
01:35if you're going to get into the Europa League
01:38into the later qualifying rounds
01:40you know it should be tough
01:41it's a difficult competition
01:44Hibs themselves and Scottish teams in general
01:46don't have a great record
01:47so you're always going to be unseeded
01:49coefficient points aren't there
01:52they have to do things the hard way
01:54and if they lose
01:57you don't want to jump ahead that far
01:58but if they lose
01:59they drop into the
02:01conference league third qualifying round
02:02which
02:02probably most people would say
02:05represents a better challenge
02:07for Scottish clubs
02:07the conference league is
02:08it's where our teams belong maybe
02:12I don't know if that's defeatist or not
02:14but anyway so
02:15July 24th
02:17in Denmark
02:18and then the 31st
02:20back at Easter Road
02:21they'll just be hoping
02:23that it's alive
02:24for that home game
02:25big European night
02:26full house
02:27bring the noise
