00:00Hello and welcome to the Scotsman's Weekend Bulletin as we look over the latest transfer
00:07news, views and the completed deals in the Scottish Premiership. My name's Graeme Falk
00:11and these are the headlines that are catching the eyes on Saturday morning. The Cogs seem
00:15to be slowly turning in the top flight with numerous reported transfers edging closer
00:20but let's start with champion Celtic who yesterday completed the signing of free transfer rival
00:25and Aberdeen goalkeeper Ross Dewan. He signed a three-year contract with Celtic. He was
00:32capped by Scotland last month as many people will remember in that 4-0 win over Lichtenstein.
00:36Didn't have a great deal to do when he was a late caller but look I think Brendan Rodgers
00:41said he's absolutely delighted with that signing. A former Celtic Youth Academy player said he's
00:45really pleased that he's gone away, got the experience and is now back sort of to make
00:50his mark at Celtic. Of course he's going to compete with Kasper Schmeichel for the number
00:54one spot next year and Sinasala who played the backup so another addition to Celtic's team
00:59there. The 27-year-old will be the second signing they've made this summer with Kieran
01:04Tierney already in the door at Lennox Town but it looks like there's another two deals
01:09that Brendan Rodgers is closing in on. He has Fulham youngster Connor Osmond. He's
01:14certainly closing in on a move from Craven Cottage. His deal has expired at Fulham but
01:20with the contract with his age sorry being the age of 19 there will be a compensation package that
01:26needs to be paid although you know cross-border rules mean that could be quite low although there's
01:30been no set fee mentioned as yet. He was reportedly spotted at Lennox Town on Thursday and he was
01:36edging close to that deal. The big one for me would be the signing of Nogisland winger and Swedish
01:42international Benjamin Negrin. That's supposed to be edging closer. The clubs are locked in talks with
01:49him after the agreed fee of around 1.7 million. It looks particularly exciting one for me this deal
01:54he scored 16 goals in the Danish Super League at last season but he's also scored twice in his first
01:59three games for Sweden so potentially a really exciting offensive option I suppose for Celtic
02:05ahead of next season and someone they can add to their already really strong wing options. Moving over
02:12to Rangers it looks like at the time of writing former England under 21 in the national Max Aarons is
02:18moving to Rangers on a season-long loan deal from Bournemouth. Reported earlier in the week
02:23further reports last night on Friday night that the full-back is close to signing on a season-long
02:28loan. He's had a disrupted last few seasons to be honest. Struggled for game time at his parent club
02:34down at Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium and he's had similar struggles when he moved on loan to
02:39Valencia in the second half of last season but that said he's got plenty pedigree. He was part of the
02:44the European under 21 championship winning squad under Lee Carsley where England won the tournament
02:50in 2023 two years ago and he cost Bournemouth 7 million when he moved to Norwich from Norwich
02:56Surrey in 2023 so there's real reason for Rangers fans to feel positive about that particular move.
03:03Interestingly Russell Martin also spoke to Sky Sports yesterday about the future of serial
03:07deaths. He's been linked as he seems to always be in the transfer windows with a move of around
03:13five million pounds to Greek Super League side PAOK Athens. However he told Sky Sports yesterday that
03:19the updates will come as and when they are actually real adding that at the moment he's expecting him
03:25to return to pre-season training on Monday and that he's looking forward to working with him so that
03:30one continues to rumble on a little bit. There's rumours that PAOK only want to pay around 3.75 million
03:38I believe where Rangers are looking for a fee of closer to five million. Either way it's one that
03:43we're surely not going to hear the last of. If we move over to Edinburgh, Hibs are remaining in talks
03:49with out-of-contact pair Rocky Bashiri and Junior Hoylet who both played a massive part in David Gray's
03:55revolution last year. He went from relegation battle to revolution and he wants to keep both at Easter Road
04:01next season. There's interest or an option for Bashiri in England and there's also options in Europe
04:07although the clubs are not mentioned but as per a report by the Edinburgh Evening News
04:12Bashiri has definitely not decided to leave Easter Road this season so there's still hope that he could
04:17stay. There's also interest in bringing back their star loanee from last year, Nectar Triantis, the
04:24Australian midfielder. He's still locked in discussions with his parent club Sunderland over
04:29what his next move would be. He's probably going to struggle for regular game time following their
04:34promotion to the Premier League. There's thoughts and rumours that they've put a one million price
04:38tag on his head. He's absolutely desperate to play in the World Cup next summer. He can play for
04:43Australia who he's been called up for recently. He's also eligible to play for Greece if something
04:49like that appeared to be an option for him. He does technically have two options to play at the
04:54World Cup next year and he'll want regular first team football. He said that before his loan move
04:59came to an end at Easter Road so that one's another one that we really need to keep an eye on. And
05:04finally if you look at Hearts, Derek McInnes has admitted yesterday that Lauren Shanklin's contact
05:09situation does need to be resolved soon one way or another. The Scotland Nationals out of contact at
05:14Tyne Castle. He's been linked to West Bromwich Albion in the EFL Championship and there's also rumours
05:20of interest in the Saudi Pro League. Hearts want to keep him but at the moment he has yet to agree on a new
05:27deal. So there is a report that says Derek McInnes is keeping an eye and keeping tabs on one of his
05:33long-term targets and over the years he's been at Kilmarnock. He's kept an eye on Kevin Nisbet.
05:39His situation at Millwall is an interesting one. He scored 12 goals on loan to Aberdeen last season
05:47but his future is unclear. He's returned back to Millwall. There's no news of a permanent transfer
05:52to Aberdeen despite his goals that he scored on last year. So you know he'll be looking for a move
05:57and potentially if Shanklin does move on I think a move to Hearts would be fantastic for both player
06:02and the club. But look this is going to have twists and turns all through the summer with each club
06:08that I've mentioned there and clubs throughout the Scottish Premiership. I think that's all for now but
06:15keep up to date with all the latest news, the views, the breaking transfer stories via
06:19thescotsman.com and ultimately just have a really good weekend and look forward to speaking to you soon.
