00:00I'm Fergus Ewing, MSP for Inverness and Nairn, and I'm going to stand as an independent candidate

00:07for you in Inverness and Nairn constituency in the Holyrood elections next year.

00:14One of the biggest mistakes made, I think, by the SNP in this session of Parliament was

00:19doing an agreement with the Green Party, and I warned against it at the time.

00:25And that was because it makes no sense to attack our oil and gas workers and prevent

00:31them from doing what they do in developing our own resources, instead importing frack

00:37gas from the USA and LNG from Qatar.

00:43That makes no sense.

00:44And the Green Party also had the bright idea of preventing our fishermen from fishing in

00:51the seas, which they've done for centuries.

00:54That's why I tore up that particular policy.

00:58It makes no sense to have a plan to have over a million heat pumps when that's quite unachievable

01:05and absolute folly to ban the humble wood stove so important for many people in rural Scotland.

01:13No, the Green Party deal did the SNP great damage.

01:19And in the Highlands, I think, in particular, it was strongly opposed.

01:25So that's one of the reasons why I'm standing as an independent voice to stand up for the

01:30people and what the people are concerned about instead of dalliances with the fringe Green Party.
