Saturday was a bit of a reality check. You're playing a good team and we didn't play well on
00:08
the day. We let ourselves down a little bit. I know Wraith were good, very good, but we didn't
00:13
do ourselves any justice. So coming in today was obviously again against a good side. It was about
00:20
improving as a whole, both in and out of possession. I thought we were better than we were
00:24
on Saturday, much better actually, especially second half. So small steps, we want to do well
00:31
in the Cup, we want to win games obviously, but it's all about the first league game of the season.
00:34
So we're building up that. Today was an improvement on Saturday and then when we play East Goldbride
00:38
again on Saturday, we'll be looking for an improvement then. Again, it's small margins
00:43
when you play against good teams. It is small margins, you look at their first goal comes from
00:49
nothing really. Billy sniffs it out and puts it in the back of the net and you go,
00:51
kind of how we hit the post and we've done okay and then you find yourself and then all of a sudden,
00:58
two months later, you're 2-0 down and that's the difference. I think we've got to learn to
01:02
kind of take our chances and keep teams at bay as well. So like I said, we've still got a lot to
01:06
learn. I thought we were good tonight, but about an improvement from Saturday and a progression going
01:12
forward. You're pleased that you created more chances tonight as well. There were a few chances in the
01:16
match, one that you set up yourself. You might have even been tempted to have a go yourself,
01:20
was it? Never. Maybe we got a little bit carried away, but it was the right thing to set Boothie.
01:28
Like I said, small margins where we've conceded a lot of possession tonight, we're 2-0 down and then
01:34
we find ourselves with two one-on-ones late on and all of a sudden you take those chances and
01:38
you're back in the game and it's still trying to get there a little bit. I've dipped in and out of
01:44
pre-season and tonight with back-to-back games in terms of 90 minutes was good and then obviously
01:49
I had the pre-season game against for Martin, it was another 90 minutes. Building up and making sure
01:55
that I'm OK for the first game. It's about managing your body at my age, I guess.
