00:00This is Fergus Ewing, MSP for Inverness and Nairn, serving the people in my constituency

00:05for the past quarter of a century.

00:08And I've seen the Scottish Parliament work well and work less well.

00:13And I think it's time for a change in the way that we do things here.

00:17Much of the time I work with Labour Conservative and Liberal colleagues in local campaigns,

00:22on committees, on individual campaigning issues.

00:26Why can't we govern Scotland that way?

00:29Why can't we work better with each other, the main parties?

00:36That surely is the best way to restore confidence in the institution of the Scottish Parliament

00:43and deliver what people want – competent government, economic growth, and effective, efficient

00:51public services.
