00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.

00:04Peak District villagers are calling on the authorities to do more to tackle issues associated

00:08with visitors to the area which they say are making life unbearable for local residents.

00:15The community formed a campaign group to draw attention to problems being encountered across

00:19the Hope Valley and have begun submitting monthly reports to the police, the Peak District

00:23National Park Authority, Derbyshire County Council and High Peak Borough Council.

00:29The reports present evidence of growing trouble with illegal roadside parking, increased traffic

00:34from lorries unable to navigate blocked routes, speeding, unauthorised camping and antisocial

00:40behaviour.

00:41Last month police took action against illegally parked vehicles on Rush Up Edge, Mam Tor and

00:46at Winnets Pass on a weekend when photographers flocked to the Peak District.

00:51The vehicles delayed Edale Mountain Rescue as they tried to respond to an emergency and

00:56also obstructed gritters from passing easily, two aspects which the local community say

01:01is now a common occurrence that puts local residents at risk.

01:07A towering Derbyshire landmark bought at auction as a surprise birthday present may be developed

01:12into a quirky studio space.

01:15The 42 metre former mill chimney at Milford near Belfer sold for £3,000 to Laura Gregory

01:21who wanted an unusual gift for her husband Lee.

01:24Laura's great grandmother used to work at the mill in Milford.

01:27She said,

01:28It was a bit of a spontaneous purchase but I was so thrilled to be able to buy this which

01:33has a special significance for our family down the generations.

01:36If we can get planning consent we would like to turn it into a studio to make sure it stays

01:41part of history and as close to its original condition as possible and can be enjoyed for

01:45years and years to come.
