Hello and welcome to your latest forecast from here at the Met Office. We see the

end of the heat today but that will be replaced by some heavy and thundery

showers over the next couple of days. That's because we've lost our high

pressure, it's been replaced with low pressure and those fronts associated

with that will become a focus for the heavy thundery rain as we head into the
00:17
beginning of the new week. We have some warnings out today, it's the last of the
00:21
extreme heat warning across England and Wales and to the north across Northern
00:24
Ireland and Scotland we have thunderstorm warnings out for some
00:27
locally heavy downpours with some frequent lightning and hail as well so
00:31
those thundery showers will continue to move their way across Northern Ireland

and Scotland through this afternoon. For the rest of the UK there was another dry

fine day with lots of sunshine around with temperatures once again peaking in
00:42
the mid 30s Celsius. As we head into this evening that heavy thundery rain will

continue to work its way further south and east edging its way into Wales and
00:52
North West England as it does so. Out to where there was a dry night with clear

skies but it will again be very warm and muggy bringing some difficult sleeping

conditions particularly for those in the south and the east. On Monday that heavy

thundery rain will then spread its way across the whole of the UK through the

day. As a result we have thunderstorm warnings across the whole of the country

again we'll see frequent lightning and hail at times with some localised

flooding still remaining warm in the southeast corner but temperatures easing
