Hello there, the heatwave continues through this weekend, however there will be an increasing
00:04
chance of a few thunderstorms developing and these will become increasingly widespread into
00:08
the early part of next week. We've got low pressure starting to drift up from the south,
00:12
that's combining with the high temperatures that we've got across the UK and is going to lead to
00:16
some heavy downpours and thunderstorms as we go into the early part of next week before temperatures
00:21
gradually lower and a fresher feel for all of us by the middle part of the week. It's hot and sunny
00:27
though for the vast majority of us this afternoon, blue skies with a little bit of high level wispy
00:32
cloud at times but a bit fresher around some north sea coasts of northern Scotland, eastern
00:38
Scotland and northeast England with some low cloud and threat drifting onshore keeping some coastal
00:43
areas quite a bit cooler. It stays dry for the majority of the UK overnight tonight though with
00:47
clear skies though some mist and fog will once again reform near some northeastern coasts. A few
00:53
showers may affect the far west of Cornwall and Northern Ireland later, possibly turning thundery
00:57
but it'd be a warm night for all of us, temperatures not dropping below 20 celsius in a few spots.
01:03
Sunny and warm once again tomorrow morning, those thunderstorms though developing across
01:08
Northern Ireland and Scotland through the afternoon and one or two hit or miss
01:12
thunderstorms elsewhere across the UK but the majority of England and Wales staying dry.
01:17
Into next week it does turn gradually fresher after a hot day on Monday in the southeast,
01:22
an increasing risk of showers and thunderstorms though so there is the potential for some flash
01:26
flooding in places. Of course you can always keep up to date though with all the latest on the
01:30
warning situation by following us on our social media channels or checking our website and app.
01:35
Bye for now.
