00:00 Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman golf correspondent here, coming to you from
00:07 the first tee at the Renaissance Club, where the Genesis Scottish Open will be held in
00:13 July and this is the shot that the players will face when they step on the first tee
00:19 here. It's quite a strong par 4 to start and the course is shaping up really well for the
00:28 latest edition of the Rolex Series event here. The field is going to be headed by defending
00:34 champion Rory McIlroy. He finished birdie-birdie last year to pipscotland's Bob McIntyre. McIntyre
00:42 used that performance to get into the Ryder Cup team in Rome and along with McIlroy, John
00:48 Ram, Tyrell Hatton and others, he helped Europe win that trophy back. McIlroy, he's going
00:55 to be defending the title in July and McIntyre, who's playing most of his golf this year at
01:02 the moment on the PGA Tour in the States, he's going to be back here in home soil. Looking
01:07 forward to that already and he'll be doing his best to try and go one better than last
01:13 July. Another top class field going to be assembled here in the summer. Two-time PGA
01:20 champion Justin Thomas, he's going to be here. Other members of that European Ryder Cup team
01:25 are going to include Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and some more big-name Americans to be announced
01:32 in the coming few weeks. The American owners, they've put a lot of money into this place,
01:38 really invested in improving the golf course since it hosted this event for the first time
01:44 in 2019. To keep up to date with everything about the Genesis Scottish Open and golf in
01:50 general, log on to Scotsman.com or buy the Scotsman.
