Meet London’s ‘Queen of the Truffles’

Vladislava who owns Queen of the Truffles, has started importing fresh truffles from Bulgaria and claims climate change is actually helping produce.

00:00 So I started during, after COVID actually, my idea started in 2000, long ago when I was

00:07 in Amsterdam.

00:08 I visited Amsterdam and I was eating this lovely truffle in the channel.

00:16 It was like the most delicious thing I ever tried.

00:18 And I was like, wow, that's amazing.

00:21 But then I went back home and I find out actually that truffles are growing in Bulgaria.

00:26 And the most important thing is to me to explain to people that we also have truffles because

00:31 many people know that they come from France and Italy.

00:35 And that's true.

00:36 They also have, but we have also the same quality of truffles and that to climate change

00:42 the last few years, actually, they're growing even more and more.

00:46 So we have a client from Italy buying truffles from us.

00:50 Yeah.

00:51 So it's, it takes like 24 hours with the DHL to be sent from Bulgaria to England.

00:55 So I ordered it tonight, tomorrow night I'm having it.

00:59 And then I prepare it for the morning to go to my restaurant.

01:02 So how long does a truffle normally last?

01:05 The truffle life is not very long.

01:07 That is why we recommend from the time that you take it from the ground to be eaten in

01:11 the next five days maximum.

01:14 Instead of wasting that, I decided to produce my own products.

01:18 So the truffles I order, and then for example, I order from Bulgaria, they will send them

01:22 to Italy and then they, they produce the products and then they get shipped here to me.

01:31 And then I do the labeling here.

01:32 And how did you come up with the name, the Queen of Truffles?

01:35 Yeah.

01:36 I love, I love that question.

01:37 Actually, I had to ask the Royals for permission to use the name.

01:42 I just came like that because I love being a model in life and I just like the sound

01:50 of it and Queen of the Truffles.

01:54 It was like, you know, that could be me.
