Wales headlines 31 Jan: No St David’s deal despite rumours

Cardiff Council have denied claims that a deal has already been struck for the take over of St David’s Hall. The venue has been owned and operated by the council since it opened in 1982, but a staff member claimed on twitter that a deal had been finalised with AMG to take control of operations at the theatre.

A man and woman, both 32 have been named after their deaths in a road traffic collision in Pontypridd last week. Kayleigh Cornwell and Jason Morgan both died in the crash, which involved a black Ford Focus and three pedestrians. Police are appealing for eye witness and dashcam footage.

A railway line between Aberdare and Hirwaun have taken steps forward after funding was granted to conduct studies into possible plans. RCT Council have received around £240,000 from the Welsh government, and hopes to build three new stations Llwydcoed, Hirwaun Police stations and Hirwaun tower colliery.
