Birmingham headlines 21 December: Ambulance Service begins strike action
West Midlands Ambulance Service and Birmingham Airport Border force workers begin their first wave of strikes. Industrial action from both is expected to cause major disruption across the UK. Unions have assured emergency cover will be provided for the ambulance services.

A drink driver who was caught driving 80 in a 30 miles per hour zone in Sutton Coldfield has been jailed. Lewis Kitson aged 31 failed to provide a specimen of breath but tested positive for cannabis and cocaine. He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison and banned from driving for four and a half years.

This years panto at the Birmingham Hippodrome has received rave reviews. Dick Whittington sees some of Birmingham's much loved panto stars perform, such as Matt Slack, Doreen Tipton and Andrew Ryan. It continues until the 29th January.
