A man from Edgbaston has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after setting alight a man on Monday. He is alleged to have committed another attack in London a week prior. Mohammed Abbkr, aged 28, was remanded to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court.

A driver who mounted the pavement and deliberately hit another man before driving off in Solihull has been jailed for 13 years. Adrian Peach left the man seriously injured in Smiths Wood July last year. He admitted causing grievous bodily harm and has been jailed for 13 years.
