A thunderstorm brought much-needed drought relief to Broken Hill, New South Wales, on Wednesday, October 3, drenching the rural town shortly after an intense dust storm swept through.The dust storm had darkened skies in the afternoon, forcing locals to take shelter in their homes.Shortly afterwards, a downpour struck and the town received 34.2 mm of rain overnight, double the amount of rain reported for the whole year to date, according to the ABC.Rain was forecast for much of Sydney, the Central Tablelands and central-western New South Wales on Thursday.
