00:00 Heavy rain and severe thunderstorms to impact much of southeastern Australia over the coming days

00:06 And that's all thanks to an upper-level low-pressure system that we can clearly see here in the water vapor loop

00:12 See this spiraling feature in the Great Australian Bight south of the Nullarbor and Sojourner

00:16 This is the feature that's going to move into southeastern parts of the country to bring widespread rain and thunderstorms

00:23 And that's because it's going to combine with really warm moist and unstable air

00:27 So what you're looking at here is Cape and this shows us how much energy is in the environment if storms do form

00:33 So you notice Monday widespread storms in Queensland, but note as that upper low moves into western New South Wales

00:39 We get some very unstable air

00:41 Combining with this upper level energy to set the stage for a dangerous day of severe

00:47 Thunderstorms through western parts of New South Wales with large hail damaging winds and heavy rainfall

00:52 so if you live in this area or know someone that does share this update with them and let them know that to stay up to

00:58 date the latest forecasts and warnings

01:00 Then that will then move eastwards into central and then eastern parts of New South Wales on Wednesday

01:07 Well also through eastern parts of Queensland note by Wednesday lunchtime

01:11 Very unstable conditions setting up across eastern Queensland and also northeast New South Wales

01:17 We're lucky to see another round of dangerous and severe thunderstorms with large hail damaging winds and heavy rainfall

01:24 That's enough to bring property damage trees down and cause up flooded roads further south

01:29 The focus will be heavy rainfall into central and southeastern

01:32 parts of New South Wales and severe weather warnings could be current there and that could cause some flash and

01:37 Possible riverine flooding as we move into Wednesday and Thursday

01:41 So just how much rainfall are we going to get with this system?

01:45 We're going to see widespread falls of 25 to 50 millimeters through western New South Wales on

01:51 One Tuesday and that's associated with a severe thunderstorms likely in this area

01:56 And that does include the places like Broken Hill, Wilcannia, Ivanhoe and Cobar

02:00 Then on Wednesday the focus will shift into the central and south coast of New South Wales

02:06 Where we could see widespread 50 to 100 millimeters even falls up to isolated

02:12 150 millimeters through here and this includes places like Maroombula, Wollongong, Batemans Bay and down towards Malakuta

02:19 So these are two focused areas

02:21 But even in between that we're likely to see widespread shower thunderstorm activity and some of those storms could be severe

02:28 so if you're in these areas of western New South Wales or the south coast of New South Wales or

02:32 traveling through
