USCG Ice Cutters Break Up Problematic Ice Jam on Connecticut River

Three US Coast Guard ice cutters on Tuesday, January 23, began breaking up an ice jam along the Connecticut River that has caused flooding issues in the area of Haddam, Connecticut.The cutters were due to return on Wednesday morning, according to a news report. Eweather, which posted this footage Tuesday, confirmed Wednesday morning the cutters were back.The six-mile jam had been causing problems for nine days.
