Connecticut Officials Monitor Housatonic River After Ice Jam Eases

Officials continued to monitor the Housatonic River around Kent, Connecticut, on Saturday, January 27, after flooding caused by an ice jam on the river had receded.Nearby Route 7 reopened on Friday after floodwaters had withdrawn and a cleanup could be completed, State Rep. Brian M. Ohler said on Facebook. The ice jam, which recently melted, had triggered flooding that caused the closure the road and the nearby Kent School.
