Mammootty got some hits in the early 90's such as Kottayam Kunjachan, Amaram, Inspector Balram which is a sequel to Avanazhi and Pappayude Swantham Appoos. He won the Filmfare Award for his performance in Amaram and also received his second national award for his performances in Vidheyan and Ponthan Mada.
